i think the movie should start with the scene which is the last chapter of book 3, memories of ice. The broken wreckage of Duiker in "K'rul's Bar" (LOL) who begins his tale ("Allow me to brake your hearts all over again" iirc). That would even leave room for a sequal

good call, that would set it up brilliantly, for the final scene i would have to take the epilogue from DG itself. The imagery of the countless crows transferring coltaine's soul to the unborn child could be stunning

@ Mnits
The first 7 or so (might have been less) pages was speculation on whether or not if Patch really was geniune and not some kid pulling out leg. Then we fuond out it was for real
. A couple of the next few pages talked about the feasibility of the project and the odd uptades from Patch and what is recquired to get it done. Most of the rest is either Spam or people trying to decide which actor should play which character.
To brief.
The Script is set at around 400 pgs long, Which is mini-series lenght, really long. It has to be cut back apparently. Filming for the Chain of Dogs is planned for Australia. Patch is a Good friend of Steven Erikson and Erikson has Ok'd the script and been working with patch at times it seems.
With The script finished.
The problem now is; Funding and a Producer that is willing to take on the project and keep it true to the current script and not destroy and change the script so its no longer the chain of dogs.

Valheru - I love that idea! Brilliant! Then you can add the narrator in, as the first person eye-witness the whole way through... I loves it!
Mints - most of this thread is death threats to Patch for winding us up so much!

just listening to new order track - 'new dawn fades' and straight away i thought of the end of the chain of dogs where the last of the defenders of the chain are killed and coltaine is crucified... it so should be used for the film - dark..... very dark...

Hmm, the original, sparse Joy Division version with just the classic Peter Hook bass riff, or the balls-to-the-wall, Moby-mixed, John Fruiscante & Billy Corgan-guesting, power chord-blessed 24 Hour Party People version? Either would work, I think.

news...well, i recently broached the subject of an animated 'gardens' and was told, explicitly i might add, 'no'...SE sees a full script with most everything included...made into a television mini-series most likely, as a film would be as long as the 3 LotR films and, taking into account the mage war at pale and raest's march on darujistan, would be hell to stage...

Cool. Actually Joy Division seem a good fit for Erikson, kind of dark but with rays of hope shining through. However, because of licensing and the like, I think most film/TV projects prefer to go and create their own music.

It would be hell to stage for a film, but not a tv series?
