No prob, there is a tonne of lore here to dive through, and two distinct "eras" of Mandalore proper.

Speaking of Mandalore, is the "destruction" of the planet referenced in the hideout (that sent all the Mandalorians into hiding) a result of what we get a glimpse of during Rebels or is there an event (or series of events) that takes place after that we haven't really been clued in to yet? Except for Mando's flashbacks, maybe?

Also, just heard on the radio this morning that Hasbro will NOT have any merchandise of you-know-who out in time for Christmas. This seems like a colossal F up by Disney/Hasbro as I've heard multiple grown men my age that want a plush one, let alone every girl and woman that has seen the show. This could easily have been the biggest in-demand gift this season and they've missed the boat. Someone did mention that perhaps they had cold feet about it since they expected the porgs (I believe that's what they're called, the annoying bug eyed guinea pigs from TLJ) to be a hit and they fell quite flat.

I saw that also. The article I read claimed it was because they were trying to keep the character a secret.

And to be fair, marketing / toy leaks are the absolute WORST leakiest parts of any film promotion, so it 100% would have spoiled the reveal weeks before it debuted, so I mean....I get it.

Those are fair points. I did not hear that part of the story. That would've been a nasty spoiler had it been revealed early. I retract some of my scoffing at Disney on this topic.

Ep. 4 was kind of a Hercules The Legendary Journeys episode to me, to mixed results.

Did a search on Mandalorian tshirts and as expected there's approximately 2 zillion of them out there. Some already with Gina Carano!

I want one with The Mandalorian standing in 3/4 profile on one side of the front and on the other side

And across the shoulders on the back "This is the way"

Appreciating Pedro Pascal's body language in combination with the way he speaks.

And of course still loving the end credit concept art.

It feels like Ep 4 was a nice slow burn for the earned realization that Mando CANNOT leave The Child alone on any planet, no matter how seemingly remote and idyllic. That the child's destiny lies with a protector of Mando's level. While that MAY seem like a filler episode, I feel that without it you'd never get that "earned" feeling of that revelation by the Mando about his place in this story.

And who knew Bryce Dallas Howard had some of her dad's directing chops. It was a well directed ep.

The AT-ST was super fun to see.

I squealed like a little kid seeing the Lothcat.

And I love that The Child sipping soup has replaced the meme of Kermit sipping tea on the net. LOL

It does raise the question of exactly how those trackers work. When the Mando came up as a target, they all blinked onto him instantly. They can't all have implants or anything so I wonder how that works?

I'm not going to get overly curious as it might just be a case of 'it just does', and this is SW so anything really goes!

Show is so good.

Its not groundbreaking in any way, but every part of the show is done very, very well.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

The Mandalorian show makes me feel something. A feeling I've not felt since ...

:The Force:

In all seriousness, it's actually giving me Original Trilogy sensation flashbacks. Probably because of all the stuff missing in a lot of the live-action stuff SINCE the OT.
Maybe I'm just doing the rose-tinted glasses thing though, but I sure hope not.

No, I think you're right on that score. No rose tinted glasses here. Just people writing and directing who fundamentally understand what Star Wars IS, including the lifelong protege of Lucas himself (Dave Filoni). Then you bring in Jon Favreau as the show runner (a guy who gets how to build things up well in a story and makes characters who sing off the page), and you have a recipe for magic.

I'm also glad that they've tapped Deborah Chow to do the Obi-Wan series, as I REALLY loved her episode of MANDO, so I think she's a great choice!
