Yeah I didn't mean it should be any different! We've seen Boba in CWs - driven by revenge against Mace; cold and detached, taking both armour and ship from others to make his own identity.

The Mandalorian is a totally different being. Ruthless, yes. But greed? Nope, he gave literally all of his pay to the other Mando; he got his pauldron but the rest went to other foundlings. He even paid his way for the speeder (that whistling Kubaz was so funny!)

He killed his rival (maybe just disabled) instead of killing the target. This guy is totally more pale rider than paid assassin. I'd be fine if Boba was left in the sarlacc at this point.

Rewatching I noted the reluctance to get in the speeder with the droid - didnt pair it with the flashback first time; droid armies were likely responsible for him being an orphan/foundling.

It's magnificent.

I like they briefly introduced the actor from American God's, the Djinn's male friend and lover, Omid Tahati(sp?). Seems to close to Tahiti spelling and now I doubt my memory.

Back to point, Omid, as just a human amongst God's, did such an amazing job representing a specific group of ordinary men, but with their own 'magic' in their merit.

I hope he ends up with more screen time. Nick Nolte's quivering voice when he approaches certain passionate topics was refreshing.

I wouldn't be down on scenes that would be at home on Rebels - we're far more likely to get more of those that less.

Not a bad thing to me, but it might put off people who are expecting a more grown up series.

Thought: amazing how the SW universe has such shitty comms and detection tech. I mean, they can find a bounty on a world with just a beep-beep-beep thingo, but can't detect what's in the room with them?
We have stuff now that would have found that beastie and comms that could have relayed success back to the Jawas.
Heck, we have weapons that would have blown that rhino thing to pieces. Hello 40mm grenade launcher.

Holy shit, who knew Nick Nolte was quite the space mechanic?

Also really liking the concept art at the end of the episodes. Very Ralph McQuarrie-like. The higher def does it justice.

he's amazing at taking down humanoids, but when it comes to beasties he keeps getting his ass handed to him.

Nick Nolte is an Ugnaught - lots used to live on Cloud City in exchange for their services. They were given their freedom when they earned it. He mentions something about not returning to servitude when the mando ask if he wants to join him. He was the perfect guy to help fix the ship.

Just put Rebels on. You'll probably steam through it, it just gets better, better, then awesome. It has some of my favourite characters and scenes from all of SW.

Clone Wars is a bit different. They're in a bit of an odd order, there are some that arent as good as the rest; but there are also a number of arcs that are just.. essential. The Clone troopers go from background characters to leading ones and get some great war stories. Obi Wan gets a relationship and more Maul, plus his brother. Boba Fett and the other bounty hunters get some cool arcs and background.
Anakin gets so much character development that it eclipses the movies. And makes it more believable that he would turn when he does in RotS. And we get Ahsoka. Who becomes one of the best characters in SW imo. She's my favourite anyway.

I'd say watch all of them. If you hit a Jar Jar or droid ep that seems slower, or you're not getting into it, skip to the next, and find the good ones.
(Although some Artoo ones are great)

It's interesting that the Mandalorian is getting so much praise when it essentially Rebels live-action. It shows how many people have disregarded the shows previously, and they're only now going to get the attention they deserve.

So my daughter ran across a breakdown of the Mandalorian by someone on Youtube. This guy (or someone else) figured out that

This Yoda baby is 50 years old and 50 years back from the time its introduced in the Mandalorian, something else momentous occurred: Anakin Skywalker's immaculate birth. The light side rises to meet the dark...? I don't know if that timing is exactly right but it certainly would make sense. There was also reference to a Darth Vader comic series (I think?) that apparently has confirmed that Palpatine manipulated the force and was responsible for Anakin's immaculate conception. Which I guess could be construed as him (Anakin) being born with a dark side influence?

is down to interpretation - a lot of people read into it what they wanted to. All the visions Vader has are tainted by the dark side; all except the one where he sees Luke.

The 50 year age would put baby yoda back in the jedi temple though I think?
