Annnd... Dave Filoni is directing the first episode! Plus Bryce Dallas Howard, and Taika down the line.

(Pity no Katie Sackoff as live action Bo Katan; the chronology is a bit out but would have loved that)

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

First look at the mandalorian, he looks pretty cool. I'm starting to get excited for this!

I like Favreau, the man has a good mind for ideas. I would care VERY little about this if it were about a Fett (Jango, or Boba) because...well they aren't really Mandalorians anyways, but moreso because I don't care about them.

That said, the concept, the directors list, and this image give me a bit of hope that this could be solid. And let's be clear Jon Favreau is a MAJOR factor in the reason that the MCU exists today. He gets my vote of confidence based on that alone.

And lastly, due to TLJ (and my hatred of the direction therein) my love/fandom of Star Wars under Disney has dropped considerably (I'm not excited about IX at all, for example and I think the whole franchise has been badly mismanaged so far)...but I can honestlysay that other than the return of a final season of TCW show...THIS Mandalorian show excites me and feels like the best chance that LFL has to get me back on board a little bit. Like I think my SW fandom has been permanently supplanted by the MCU....but this could get me singing some praises again.

Consider me cautiously optimistic.

Wow I didn't see the list of the directors until you fellas pointed it out, this is starting to look very promising. I'm sure they'll have mentions to Clan Ren and what not. Although in the description it talks about a lone gunfighter on the outer reaches so there may not be too much involving Mandalore specifically but we'll have to see when more info is released.

I'm cool if the actual Mandalore (planet, politics) stuff waits a season or so to be woven in. Establish him/her first.

Also, do we know if the lead is a man or a woman? I'd love for it to be a woman to be frank, as both live action dudes in this amor so far have been guys.

I don't think we know yet, and I'd love for it to be a woman too, I think that'd be really cool. I don't know if you've seen it but in one of the trailers for the TOR MMO there was a female mandalorian who looked cool as hell, so if they had someone like that it'd be great.

I agree, it would make sense too if the mandalorian is on the outer reaches and maybe have some flashbacks or something of Mandalore, and having something bring them back eventually.
There's so much potential for this show, which is really fun, they aren't tied down by having to do it in 3 movies or anything, they can just keep going.

Anyone know off the top of their heads when this is supposed to come out?

You absolutely did! Probably just one episode or so, there's a bunch of other good directors lined up to direct too.

You think NASA has ordered astronauts to fuck up there? I've always wondered this and yet have never looked up the information.

Ha, I'm not sure the ethics of ordering someone to have sex but it could have happened before. Or even if they did I doubt they'd publish the findings for the general public.

I feel like I've actually read about this recently, but can't remember if it was in a book or tweet or something. Anyway, it seems like the act itself would be fairly difficult, given that any forceable motion you make toward an object will end up propelling you away from it.

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Possibly, but don't most astronauts sleep strapped into those wall-bed things? I feel like if they somehow strapped themselves to the wall so there's little chance of floating away it could work out. Might not be super great but definitely possible.

Finally watched the teaser. I'm as excited to watch this as i am unexcited to watch IX.

Pascal is awesome and the talent putting it together is encouraging.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Is this the footage? I don't think an official trailer has been released yet?

I'm in agreement too. These 'stand alone' movies are waaaaay more interesting to me. They can just free themselves up and are not beholden to the same old, yawn inducing themes. Cautiously optimistic about this.

Dunno about a Cassian and K2S0 show though.

*Whispers*

Oh baby!

I'll be honest, aside from the Disney animated content that my kids will love and watch over and over...THIS show is the MAIN reason I want Disney+. Nothing in the main saga films is impressing me, but Jon Favreau on a live action TV show with Pedro Pascal as a Mandalorian, which also seems to feature Werner Herzog? PLUG this into my veins!
