That out of those three, it would be more likely Gamora that reappears, Loki's death did seem pretty conclusive but then again, so did the other two so...

I've been trying to figure out how they will get out of this mess, I mean after that, how the hell do you take out Thanos without some dues ex machina kicking in.

Stupid Star Lord getting angry and fucking up the glove capture battle which was awesome!!! So many scenes were epic!

I know that with the end credits, Captain Marvel will obviously play a big part but dang, a fair few heroes were totally dust... the wait for the second half is going to be killer...

As for Hulk... was he scared to come out?!

I imagine Tony and co had to live , Wong survived at sanctum and contacts strange.. who has he ability to pull certain heroes from death. They needed to die to bring certain characters into the fight. Maybe it’s case of Thanos you know accomplishing his goal..

They definitely should give thanos a movie now.

In one of those 14 million versions of reality they longshotted.. as a note did that mean that strange in 13.999% of the millions...did not go forward, or in each of those he did go forward and only though a very certain resolution they won..hmmmm

I think of all the dead characters who didn't die from disintergration, he has the best chances of coming back. He has faked his own death often enough. Furthermore, I think it would be kind of cheap for Disney to finish off one of the most popular characters in a really lame way during the first ten minutes of the movie. Then again, they have surprised me before. Heimdall is no really important enough for resurrection I guess and Gamora's death had too much of an emotional impact to be reversed.

I'm very sure that we will see all of the people killed by Thanos in the end again. And maybe Loki, Heimdall and Gamora. My top guesses for people that are going to die permanently are still Iron Man and Cap. But I currently have a bit of a problem with imaging a way to get everone deleted back to life, either by re-snapping them into existance with the gauntlet or by using the timestone, and having anyone of the Avengers, whoever got too expensive for a new contract, stay dead, in a satisfying way.

I guess they have to revive everyone who was on that ship. It would give Thor: Ragnarök a very very sad ending if all those people were barely saved from Hela, only to get killed five minutes later. Or only half of them. Thor said somewhere "slaughtered half of my people", althought the ship got blown up and he was the only survivor.

Saw Infinite Fisting yesterday. I gotta say the sneaky lil Iron Tager reference (Thanos literally does Atomic Collider, right down to the magnetic sucky-suck and the pose whilst he's doing it) made me smile.

I was surprised with how funny the film is, considering how dark it was.

FINALLY

A film where the bad guy wins! Not just sort of got the last laugh like for example Saw or Seven but actually won! I've been wanting this for decades and Marvel just went and did it with their biggest production. Fucking spectacular!

As a stand alone film, with out what ever the second half will be about, this was a phenomenal surprise ending to a super hero celebration and convergence. It became a film about Thanos' story, his trials and tribulations and ultimate victory. A happy ending for a villain who was the hero of his own tale.

And even though I wish they'd not humanized Thanos quite so much, I love what they did with him. They made him sympathetic and tragic in a horrific kind of way. He had a ton of pathos.

The fan of Thanos in me wish they'd kept his look and played up his arrogance and self-destroying nature more. I wish they'd actually had some death worship in there some where but I understand why they didn't do it. By deleting the godhood and cosmic stuff from his behaviour and motivations, they made his actions and ambitions more digestible and understandable.

I was absolutely stunned how they ended that film. They copied the very end of the Infinity Gauntlet comic book, with Thanos retired, sitting as some kind of hermit at a lodge - But instead of finding peace in defeat, he fucking WON! God! It's so fucking great!

I sat there watching the credits scroll for a while not believing it. I was sure they'd do some kind of record scratch, next time on "Marvel The Avengers" bit but there was none of that. Death, peace, a happy Thanos, done. I actually got up and left after a couple minutes because I didn't want to watch the teaser after the credits.

Thanos ending was my ending for that film. It will always be the perfect ending for that film. Nothing can take that away from it. Thanos won! Beautiful.

Adam Warlock is the answer. I haven't seen what the ending scene after the credits were but, in the ending credits of Guardians of the Galaxy, you see the cocoon that gave birth to the demi-god that turned into Adam Warlock.

Adam Warlock is the key to this stuff. He will be the deus ex machina if anything is. He is linked to the soul stone in the comics and in his own story, there was plenty of timey wimey lets delete our own time line shenanigans.

But given the movie release schedules, I don't really understand how you reveal, explain and set up Adam Warlock in time for Infinity War part 2

The post-credits scene is a callout to the coming of Captain Marvel.

What's really great about the ending of this film (after coming to the SHOCKING, but welcome realization that this is TECHNICALLY Thanos standalone movie, and not really an Avengers ensemble movie much at all [it just happens to feature them all because they tie into the stones and that's his story], I think we get that in A:4) is that even though you KNOW that A4 will undo most, if not all, of the post-snap deaths...they still carried immense weight....Rocket realizing Groot was disappearing, but especially Peter hugging Tony and saying "Mr. Stark, Mr. Stark...I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go..." Fuck. That was a tearjerker moment. Kudos to both Downey Jr. and Holland for owning and earning the emotion for that scene.

And as much as Quill caused the whole thing by flying off the handle...two things occurred to me...1. This is CLASSIC Peter Quill. He's kind of a screw-up who falls ass backwards into wins due to the fact that the rest of the team is awesome....and 2. Strange had foreseen this one. Thanos HAD to get the Gauntlet for the one scenario that he saw where they win, so Quill freaking out at Thanos was a part of that path of events.

But yeah, Gamora is TOTALLY in the soul stone. It's the SOUL stone and demanded a sacrifice of Thanos to get it...to me that screams that she's in it and is the SOUL of the stone....which leads to why he'd see her post-snap.

Also, the gauntlet is wrecked, so we will see Dinklage again.

I think Loki, and Heimdall are perma-dead. Loki's death especially should stand since it was such a great Thanos moment to showcase his early resolve.

This movie is FILLEd with amazing story choices that work so well. Hulk getting the boots put to him in the opening leads to him not wanting to come out for the whole film...I mean that's perfectly written.

Oh, and speaking of....note that all the original Avengers lineup didn't get disappeared (Stark, BW, Hulk, Thor, and Cap), which was, I assume, on purpose since its a high bet we will be losing some if not all of them in A4.

This was the Empire Strikes Back of the MCU by far. The bad guy wins. I love that Cap has the last line and it was something like "What have we done?"

fucking spectacular. I think BP is still my fave MCU movie....but this is a tight second.

I'd considered Warlock but I'd read an interview where Kevin Keige was saying that he is more for phase 4 but obviously that can be smoke and mirrors.

Pretty fun, I enjoyed it.

Anyone else find the camera too shaky during a lot of action bits? Felt like they were using handheld for everything, and with so many close-up cuts and things flying around I often found it hard to visually follow what was going on.

^ Probably my only complaint with the movie. I think they overplayed their hand just a bit at the end, and so now you know none of it can be permanent. I did however just read an interview with the writers, where they said they intentionally wanted to end it at this point

instead of, say, earlier, where you could be left wondering, "Is Thanos actually going to win?" Because now you get to see that he does win, even if it will be negated next year.

Do the stakes need to be high for you as the audience member though? The stakes are high for the characters within their universe. That is enough for the story at hand, and for the first half of a two part story. This is going to (for example) utterly DESTROY Tony going forward, and Rocket, and a few others for sure.

Was it meant to emotionally manipulate US as the audience, I very much doubt it. I think the deaths in IW occur and are meaningful to those left afterwards. The sacrifices are internal.

I don't think anyone was watching thinking, well those people are all dead....nor do I feel that the Russo's intent.

I liked it, although I'll have to watch it again. There were too many loud people right next to my wife and me. The wife didn't like it, but she hasn't seen all the other Marvel films, only about half.

Her missing the Dr Strange film, and both Guardians movies made a huge difference.
