This might actually be worth going to the cinema for. Been a while since I had that feeling seeing a marvel trailer.

Knowing absolutely nothing about the comics, it looks like other than the Andy Serkis parts this is going to be about Black Panther versus Gold Panther versus Purple Panther? Is it just like "hey, your dad died in Civil War, now we have to pick the next King from amongst the Panthers by duking it out" sorta thing? 'Cause I'm totally okay with that!

Problem with man ape is that it's really hard to do that character without the racism or the initial presentation and lots of set up to ameliorate the initial set up.
I read a lot of Black Panther last year. Honestly, he's really only come into the being a wonderful character in the last ten years. A big part of that was the discarding of the Hotepism and greater thought being put into Wakanda being a techno futuristic place.

Uh hate to tell you but it's still M'baku...they just aren't using the name man-ape or the gorilla armour to avoid the racism.
Same villain though,

Same villain though,
Killmonger is the main villain in this one. M'Baku is in the movie, but he's not the main villain and he's not under the Man Ape name/trappings like the Priest run had him do.
Killmonger and M'Baku are not the same person, even in the movie.

I didn't say he was the main villain. I said M'Baku is in it, and playing a villain...the same villain he is in the comics, minus (it appears) the full ape armor...though he does appear to be wearing ape fur on his amor, or be referred to as Man-Ape...but it's still him and his backstory from Priests work: As per producer Nate Moore: "Man-Ape is a problematic character for a lot of reasons, but the idea behind Man-Ape we thought was really fascinating. … It’s a line I think we’re walking, and hopefully walking successfully."
I was merely rebutting the claim implied in your post that Man-Ape/M'Baku was not in it (he is), and that he wasn't one of the villains ("Killmonger, with a Klaw warmup.") when he clearly is. What extent that is remains to be seen in the final film.

I suppose it can be racist but if the mai character is a black panther having another god/totem be a white ape seems like its okay to me in context. Not sure about all the trappings. My Black panther knowledge is confined to the cartoons mostly.
I thought man-ape would bea good villain since my understanding is that he is the polar opposite to the black panther. A rival religion and M'baku is always trying to usurp the throne. Though it seems that's the plot of the movie anyway. So a good chance for T'challa to prove he is a worthy black panther and king to wakanda

New look / trailer premiered during the College Football Championship tonight, right after Kendrick Lamar's performance during half time (I guess he is on the soundtrack for the movie).
Looked pretty cool to me. I guess none of you guys saw it because none of you are watching the College Football Championship. I'll leave it to you internet professionals to find the new trailer tomorrow sometime (probably on YouTube, I'm guessing). As always, have fun and smile, kay?

I am avoiding heavily any trailers for this movie. Many people in my circles are extremely hyped up about this movie, so we don't need any more "selling that turns into plot points given away".
