Travel well steadfast friend. Sure you were a smart ass, but it's what made you so integral to our fight. You provided levity and comedic relief at those important moments when we felt the light dissipating and the darkness overwhelming us. You will be missed.

Is their a PVE horde mode thing yet? I absolutely despise PvP most of the time.

With the Warmind expansion, something called Escalation Protocol was introduced that might scratch that itch you have. I've never played, as I haven't bought any of the expansions due to their poor reviews. You many want to get advice from somebody who has played it to see if is is something you'd like to give a go.

Damn, some of the exotic gear coming with the Foresaken expansion looks pretty bad ass. The Wish-Ender bow that allows you to see enemies through walls got me excited. Would love to use that in pvp. Thing is, to play Forsaken, I'm going to have to buy Curse of Osiris and Warmind. So probably am going to have to wait until all drop in price. Unless Forsaken reviews are stellar, then might pull the trigger and get them all.

Greeting fellow Guardians.

Is the "Solstice of Heroes" event that went live yesterday worth giving a try? Is it worth it if you don't have any of the DLC? I haven't jumped in since Feb. (Valentine's event), which, other then the 2v2 Crucible (which got boring after a few rounds), wasn't all that great.

Help me decide if I should try out this "Solstice of Heroes" event, dear fellow guardians.

And may the incisor of Grazkeezert Blackmaw stay embedded in the plodding heel of Eeeldorian Deeznutzian.

Wow, I just read a review that states the Foresaken expansion surpasses The Taken King in the positive impact its had to the title. I mean, I guess that could be construed as obvious since D2 has been locked in suck mode. But this reviewer, who was totally out on D2, is so impressed and positive on what Foresaken is offering. Any you guys give it a go yet?

Cant speak for the forsaken update, I'm only at lvl 20 yet, but so far vanilla Destiny 2 seems like an overall upgrade of the first game. Not sure what the complaints are about

You're not playing the game which released a year ago.

As someone who played it from when it came out - it basically got old fast on the PvE front. They made everything much much easier to acquire. Good at first if you can't be bothered with grind, but then there was nothing left to do after a week and no gear felt special. Armour especially made no difference to anything. The areas were hyped to be much bigger and with tonnes of secrets, but only the EDZ was of any notable size and there were essentially no secrets. Where Destiny 1 at least had lore which you could discover and then read outside the game (sigh), Destiny 2 had none.

In PvP, the loadout changes meant that there was no point in using half the weapons, like shotguns and sniper rifles, because they were tied to the same slot as rocket launchers (the game-wide changes which came with the Forsaken update have now changed this). Time to kill was also much longer, which annoyed a lot of people. Iron Banner and Trials were both neutered (again, they're now changing this back).

Destiny 2 felt like a game which went into production before the Taken King update for Destiny 1 changed so much of that particular game, which is essentially what happened. So it featured none of the improvements of Destiny 1, and a whole new slew of mistakes. Where Destiny 1 leaned too much on the hardcore grind side of things, Destiny 2 was far too casual. There were no hard modes for any of the missions or strikes. All gear was earned randomly by giving in tokens - meaning there was no way to work toward something even if there was anything to work toward. There were no rankings in PvP, the vendors had no gear awarded to you depending on achieving certain objectives. All that was added in the past few months.

Then there was Eververse. The first few months of Destiny 2 were directed very blatantly toward attracting you to the real-money shop. Items you could acquire through activities in destiny 1, such as ghosts, sparrows and ships, were now ALL in the cash shop. The first few special events like at Christmas and Valentines were all centred around Eververse. Again, they've now rowed back on this implementation.

The reason Destiny 2 got much better reviews than Destiny 1 is because it does indeed make a better first impression. The campaign is serviceable and certainly makes a whole lot more sense than the first game's, the worlds look full of activities after you finish the campaign. But it was an illusion, as anyone who played beyond about twenty hours discovered. And for a game meant to keep you hooked for the long haul, what came out a year ago failed spectacularly to do that, leading to a slew of changes.

Yeah, my two brothers and I played through the campaign together and we loved it. This was the game we'd play together for a long time we thought. When we were done with the campaign though we got bored so fast.

I don't suppose there are 5 other PS4 players here, on roughly the same timezone, who want to try raiding? Super curious about this raid thing. Sounds unbearably hard and fun.

I am absolutely consumed by this game. I just discovered there's apparently a whole new zone/map in the game after the Twisted Shore I didn't even know about. More bounties for the Bounty throne!

There's a website somewhere where you can register and request fire team help in doing Raids. I don't recall the URL, but a search will probably get you there. Bungie really seems to have pushed the Clans concept in D2 (quite a few achievements associated with being in a clan). Maybe someone here should create a Malazan clan if there are a lot of folks who are playing on a PS4?

Seems as if the Foresaken expansion has been delivering on Bungie's promise to do better. It's a shame I'm probably never going to experience it. Still haven't purchased any of the previous DLCs.

God damn you are lucky not to have experienced the first year of Destiny 2 (or Destiny 1) :)

I have it on Xbox but actually I'm quite happy to get both 1 and 2 on PS4 if it means doing the raids, which I've never tried. I was in a clan previously but people lost interest quickly.

You might have to wait for me to level up though :(

I've read about there being a raid finding option but I suspect you'll prefer to actually know the People you will be raiding with for upwards of 12 hours or more.

We can play the Vanilla Destiny 2 raid if people want. I don't care about the gear being lower lvl. I just want to try it out.

I'm gonna go make a Malazan clan. BRB.

What should a Malazan clan be called?

Edit: Apparently you need to go their website to make a Clan. And their website is undergoing maintenance.

Bungie are terrible at social stuff.

I was meaning to make one. Going to the website was too much effort.

I thought about calling it Dassem's Sword
