One of the last hard bits I had to complete was one of the crafting bits. Forgot which animal (raccoon? or maybe Goose?) I needed, but it was a bitch to find them until I came upon a little forested area on the bottom corner of the map. Then it was hunting season. Posted Image. It still took some time, because I think I needed the skin and so had to get one that glows purple (I believe), and I was only getting normal (meat) or green (bone) for the longest time.

I found a raccoon skin on top of a watchtower. Can't remember what I need it for though haha. Think I'm going to finish up soon. I'm heading towards the

I agree with whoever it was who said that this was open world done right. Not so many side missions that it became a distraction, not so many repetitive tasks that you dreaded doing, but enough to keep the game fresh and flowing. Thanks to whoever persuaded me to get it!

Did you play Bloodborne yet, Tiste? If not, that is your next mission.

Oh yes, another essential play! (Morgoth have you checked out Sekiro - Shadows die twice? From Software's next Soulsy type. Looks awesome of course.

I am excited, but have never been too intrigued by samurais and stuff. But of course, it's a release buy.

Hmm no it's never bothered me tbh I dunno anything about it and I've never played Dark Souls. My next game is Shadow of War but I've not got much time before the baby comes.

Shadow of War is a mediocre grind designed to make their microtransactions tempting. Bloodborne is the best game of this console generation. The choice should be obvious.

I bought my ps4 for Bloodborne. I was going to get one anyway I guess but that exclusive made it a definite.

Yes but I already have Shadow of War and I paid nothing for it. If I'm going to only get part way through a game I'd rather not go and spend money on it first...

Also I looked it up and saw it was "praised for its high level of difficulty" well that's me out then. I'm not very good at these things and I'd never complete it and just get annoyed with how hard it was.

This is a lie! Shadow of War has you playing superman in a world of clark kents. You might die now and then but on the whole the game is about making you feel a bad ass. Depending on your skill you might be able to go toe to toe wth 5 orc captains at once or you may prefer to recruit them one at a time. Plus you know their is an easy difficulty.

No, I meant Bloodborne is meant to be really hard. I posted Shadow of Mordor before and found it as you described. <_<

Bloodborne is pretty challenging. Even the second boss has people pulling their hair out.

Resurrecting the thread so as not to spam up the what are you playing thread. Been enjoying the pc release of the game since Friday.

Played for about 15 hours so far. At first it was pretty all right; then I bought some collectible maps from a trader and activ(ed my first Tallneck. And now... welp. The map is quite saturated to put it lightly.

I'm still in the Nora lands, though out of the Embrace, obviously. Finished today's session by clearing out a bandit camp and then going on a boar-killing spree, because I really need more ingredients space. Hit level 13 already. Not sure if I should try the dangerous Level 25 ruin, or leave that for later, like a sensible person would.

Edit: also, having a blast climbing stuff. Unfortunately the game is a bit heavy-handed with the "leaving play area" message and then booting me to the last save point. I'd have preferred some steeper cliffs to block my way instead.

You are in for a treat. The game has some of the best (if not the best) enemy combat mechanics where focusing on specific locations on the enemy pays off big time. And the way the enemy reacts to these focused attacks is very cool. Playing HZD with the precision of mouse and keyboard would be ideal in this regard. Keep a look out for the proving grounds and be sure to learn the weapon featured at those. I think some people here have just gone the hack-and-slash approach (which is lessening the experience, imo), but if you have a strong understanding of the weapon pool and how to use each available weapon, situationally, the game is so much more immersive and satisfying. Oh, and there is a moment in the game at the end when you'll be like. HOLY SHIT! That's all I'll say in regards to that, lips are sealed, but be prepared to have your socks knocked off.

If I remember correctly, there's a benefit to focusing on the story until you get to the big portion of the map. I think there's some upgrades or equipment or some hoolabaloo that improves the gameplay experience.

Also, something I couldn't figure out initially, if you're playing with the frozen north expansion included, you're going to be picking up upgrades for your spear but you can't upgrade your spear the same way you can the bows, etc. There's a new spear or spear upgrade that you get up in DLC North East location that these upgrades are for.

I probably should be doing more of the main story (at least get to the big city).

But instead I'm just roaming the land on my Strider, clearing corruption, finding occasional data texts and shooting turkeys and foxes.

Also, I aced the first set of Hunting Trials, so that's something at least.

I've run into several different types of machines I don't think I can kill yet. I should probably ignore them for now and catch up to the War-Chief lady and go blow stuff up. I'll probably do that tomorrow.
