This looks cool. Not sure if this is a remake of the 00s movie series or something new.
Tom Cruise apparently only makes amazing actions films now.

It's kinda both, except this one is supposed to be tied to the Universal monster cinematic universe or something like that. All the monsters are gonna meet like The Avengers.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Oh man, Netflix "The Defenders"-inspired sitcom incoming. Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman are living in an apartment next to Mummy Girl, The Invisible Woman and this cooky lady who eats people through the television.

You left out the Creature from the Black Lagoon. He's the kooky neighbor that always bursts in at the most inopportune times. His catchphrase is: "what's for dinner? fish?"

Dracula is the one from DRACULA UNTOLD (it's probably him as that flock of birds that crashes the plane in the trailer as he showed up like that in his film) with Luke Evans (UNTOLD was retrofit to be the IRON MAN first film in this cinematic universe) and Russel Crowe's character we see in this trailer is actually Doctor Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (who will get a film) not in this trailer...but coming soon are Javier Bardem is the Frankenstein monster (who will get a film), and johnny Depp is the Invisible Man (who will get a film), they are also doing a wolfman movie, and a creature from the black lagoon movie.

So, when do Scooby and the gang show up?

Is this the return of the critically acclaimed and beloved "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" movie franchise?

God, I hope not.
As far as I'm concerned, that flock or birds/bats that down the airplane is all but confirmation that Evan's Dracula is a part of this, since that was a VERY distinctive part of DRACULA UNTOLD.
It sounds more and more that the MUMMY will be the first film and Dracula is being recast and UNTOLD is not going to be his entry into the Shared Universe.

I think Hollywood trots out that rumour every five years or so just to see if they can finally make Alan Moore's head detonate.

I think it's time we all (re)watch a certain classic 80s movie called Monster Squad.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I don't really understand why they'd ditch Dracula Untold as the beginning of the 'verse when they're not going to fix any of the problems (bar buying bigger stars, I guess) that made the first one flop (speaking in a pure visual/stylistic sense from the trailer since I never did see DU, but judging that trailer against this one). The aethesetics look the same (it speaks volumes that more than one person assumed that was Dracula downing the plane) and there's nothing of the iconic Mummy look about, well, the Mummy.
In short, it looks dreadful. I could see a good crossover universe with all these monsters but it'd need to take itself a hell of a lot less seriously and embrace the kitsch value of the old icons.

Have the rights to all those characters lapsed, or are in the public domain? Would explain why Universal is trying to do a MCU on the cheap.
