Yeh City win a couple of weeks back so really this last day of the season was fairly meh for that. The two main things that people were looking for are: who would claim the last top 4 spot out of Liverpool and Chelsea (Liverpool got it); would Swansea pull off some kind of miracle - they needed to win and overhaul a 10 goal difference - they lost and as such were relegated.

Other notable points were the 100 points in a season for City, which they got, Wenger's last game with Arsenal, which he won, and Carrick's last game for United. He set up the winning goal for them so a fitting send off.

Otherwise, pretty unremarkable day compared to some where the premiership has been undecided down to the final whistle and about 6 teams being in contention for relegation...

I was talking about the Dutch league, not the English one. Dutch season finished last week but afterwards they have promotion-relegation playoffs. Which we now got knocked out of.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Pretty tame on the stakes front but was watching the news ticker closely because of the 3rd/4th/5th situation the Pool were in.

Chelsea obliged and got a kicking (#conteout for sure now) but Spurs kept coming back and scoring to win 5-4 against Leicester the bastards. Meaning we finish 4th Me have extra qualifiers to go through next season if we don't win the CL

I'm kind of out of sorts and somewhat gutted that Swansea will be relegated. Always pulled for them secretly.

Also, bro's team is Arsenal so he's feeling the retirement of Wenger.

My team, Tottenham, finished in the top 4. Does that give them any extra privileges leading into next season?

Ugh, can’t believe how far my team have fallen. We bloody played UEFA cup against the likes of Tottenham and Udinese back in 2008 and now we are Dutch 2nd division and staying there for another year. Football is a cruel game. It hurts.

Well guys, tomorrow is the big day! You guys pumped or what? Any late breaking news that could have an impact on the outcome? (injuries etc?).

Lets go Liverpool!

Nothing really.
Can coming back from injury will probably be on the bench, so that's an Ox type player we have as another option if we need to hammer through the middle in the second half.

As usual our weak bench is my biggest concern

I'm a ball of fuckin' twisted, fuming anger!

That was some straight up intentional and dirty play by Sergio Ramos to send Salah out with an injury. Pulling on his right arm to put some extra hot sauce on the fall. What an asshole.

And why did Gareth Bale decide to show up for this match. I mean that first goal was sheer brilliance, but he's been persona non grata all year. I'm seeing red guys. Fuck! I'm pissed off!

It sucks donkey balls. Don't know about Ramos - sure, it is Ramos but this was I think accident. Him getting Mane booked was 100% intentional, though.

Can't even be so mad at Karius. The Benzema goal, he should have stepped forward past Benzema before the throw, but players should step away from the keepe if there is time. Now, he didn't give that time.
After that first blunder, Karius has lost instinct and is instead second-guessing himself at every ball.

The second Bale goal is him wanting to catch the ball in two hands without securing it against the chest, to move on quickly. Wouldn't do that normally - punch at worst (Mignolet would do that), or catch and fall on the ball, probably.

But then, what is Klopp to do? Take off the keeper mid-game? Of course not.

Anti-climactic.
At the least, the first third of the game was very good. Mane was great. Wijnaldum did well, Lovren was faultless.

See, here's the deal. When you fall, the natural reaction is to place both hands out to break the impact. Now if you are in a competition and want to injure an opponent, you grab their free arm and pull as hard as you can to either cause injury to the arm you've clasped on to, or hope that you've created enough momentum that some other injury will occur.

Guys like Pepe and Ramos is why Real is such a shitty team. Could have been a very different night with Salah on the pitch. Gotta fear for his world cup with Egypt too, now. But that Bale goal was a stunner. And Karius was shockingly bad. Time for Liverpool to pick up Cillessen from Barcelona.

Salah hurt his other shoulder. The picture looks bad, but if you rewatch the scene in motion from a different angle, you can see that Ramos didn't lock the arm. I'm pretty sure that he wasn't unhappy about what happened, but some people make it sound as if he was an MMA pro.
Apart from that:
- wow, so even German keepers can suffer from English-Keeper-Syndrome when they play for an English club
- Karius totally fucked up, but I found it to be really shocking that he had to wander the pitch alone for a long time, looking traumatized and the first ones to console him were Real players. Come on, you lost, he was shit, but he's still your teammate!
- If Real don't want Bale anymore, can we have him? You get Lewandowski for free
- I didn't expect Liverpool to be so dependent on Salah. Loosing one key-player should not completely change your gameplay. Of course it means a drop in quality, but Liverpools seemed shell-shocked for a very long time
As a sort-of neutral I wanted neither of the teams to win XD, but I can live with the result. Real show again and again that they can score when it really matters.

Ramos deliberately pulled Salah into the ground. His other shoulders hurt from the impact.
Ramos is entirely to blame. Did he set out to do in Salahs shoulder? No
Did he set out to melt Salah?
Yes
He's a dirty fruitloop, always has been and always will be
Fuck Sergio Ramos
Fuck Karius as a useless fuck as well.

Did you guys watch the trophy ceremony after the match finished? Ramos seemed to be getting extra vigorous hugs and slaps on the back by the assistant coaches and the suits. I can imagine how the whisperings in his ear went: "Excellent lad. You executed that injury of their best player flawlessly. There will be an extra $1 million in your championship winnings."
