Wel
There's the end of any ambitions we had of defending the title.

No zip, no urgency, no need for Origi to be in the squad

Hat-trick by Mbappé. That third goal was tasty.

USA Men's National Team beat Northern Ireland 2-1. First time the two sides met in 70 years or something, and first win by USA men's team over a European opponent in like six years or something. Are you guys impressed? Or naw bruh, you still have to climb up about five rungs of the ladder to be on our level?

I gotta say, we looked good first half, but damn it to shit we were on our heels in the second half playing goal protection on our half of the pitch.

Man City and Man U one and two atop the table. How'd you guys let this happen?

On the merry side, USWNT beat the Frenchies 2 - 0. Yeah, that's right, we bad.

Alex Morgan scored.

Wait, the tea thing is a shot at the British, yeah? So, what would the celebration be to razz the French? Umm, act like you're smoking underhanded and eating an elegant croissant?

Huh, looks like Spurs decided it was time to ditch Jose. What a coincidence - same day as the Super league was announced!

I'm very disappointed by MUFC. But I can't say I'm overly surprised either, although maybe the timing caught me off-guard.
Those top clubs are purely about not just the money, but obscene amounts of money. And fuck anyone else.
The only positive that I can draw from this is at least they're open about their greed, arrogance and contempt now.

Whoever thought I'd find myself in agreement with Gary Neville and Stephen Fry - on the same subject? Crazy times.

I'm fucking disgusted.

FSG have just sold Liverpool's soul.
I'm out if this happens.

Even if it doesn't the mask is torn, FSG can fuck off and join Gillet, Hicks and The Glazers in the americunt owners pile

It's interesting I've not heard anything from the players about this. Like if enough of them disagreed with it and threatened to walk, the whole thing would crumble.

I suspect it's being sold as "you'll make more money" and as such this won't happen though.

Apparently Klopper has taken serious issue with it and is demanding a meeting with the top brass at Pool. Good to see at least he understands the club.

The only player speaking out so far is Herrera as far as I know.

But I'm not on twitter so fuck knows

Man, my head is spinning. I woke up to this news and don't know which way is up. Evolving story and new info coming out by the minute. This is crazy.

Late stage capitalism?

Who steps in at Spurs? I think I heard Nuno's name.

Absolutely disgusted with these 'big six' and their Italian and Spanish counterparts. UEFA and FIFA are a bunch of authoritarian money-grabbing assholes, but these clubs are taking corporate greed and "fuck grass roots football" to a whole new level. And then having the gall to claim that their initiative will improve the game of football for everyone around the world. Feckers. Relegate the lot and strip them of their titles, I'm right there with Neville on that one. This cannot go unchallenged.

Glad I am supporting a real club, not one that is run by millionaires and lawyers. I hope they all burn. The only ones I feel sorry for are the 'true' fans of these clubs (i.e. the season ticket holders, not the people halfway across the world munching on ESPN match summaries).

Leeds United vs Liverpool match starting in about an hour as I post. Do you think there will be a statement (subtle or obvious) about this madness?

ESPN summaries suck. NBC Sports has the best EPL coverage. But, like you guys over there who like the NFL, here in America we have to be up at 5 am to watch the matches on the weekends, or they are on during the middle of the day on a work week. So we live on summaries.

Also, the FIFA branded video games from EA Sports has done more to bring in causal, bandwagon fans than any dilution of fervent fandom that nibbling on ESPN summaries has created.

Seems Bruno Fernandes is speaking out against it. It would definitely be the players who could bring an end to this if they wanted to. And if the clubs went ahead with it, other teams would become big in the PL, what with the sanctions that would no doubt be dumped on the teams responsible. So they'd have somewhere to go if they did walk.

New day.

Any additional fallout from this? Influential voices taking a stand? How does this impact international play? - this summer's Olympics, World Cup.

Chelsea is withdrawing already from the Sper League. Undoubtedly several others (Man City for one) will follow soon, leaving the remainders look increasingly idiotic while at the same time looking like cowardly fools themselves. Looks like the whole plan is imploding soon, though.

The Glazers have trussed Woodward up for sacrifice, Juves president is gone, Chelsea, Barca and City are out.
Who will the rest sacrifice to try and save face?
