Agreed on LC, Cottonmouth was so much better.

JJ2 suffered from a horrible villain (or lack-thereof) as well.

5 eps in, this season rules so far. All the new characters are great, and everything's a bit more complicated. I don't know that anyone will (or can) be as riveting as Mahershala Ali, but the new villain has something in his own right. Plus a lot of the secondary characters are really popping, like Piranha.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I'm so behind. Not sure I can devote the enrgy to this universe.

I still need to catch up on *I'm drawing a blank* the female one JJ? season 1 and 2, punisher, defenders and now this. I think I'm super hero saturated.

I don't think there is any payoff for you to get into the shows. Defenders was a crime against television and the individual shows range from great to god awful and, imo, the more you watch the more visible the flaws become.

Im about 7 or 8 episodes in.

Started off as my favourite marvel netflix season in awhile.

Dropped a lot of the dead weight, the characters had some depth, and the song montages even are pretty good. But it is already starting to feel like 13 episodes will be way too long. You can feel the writers stretching the story out already.

May be really annoyed by the time I finish.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

I'm with you. Watched Iron Fist and just about scraped through. Got 4 episodes into Defenders and gave up. Haven't seen Punisher, JJ S2, most likely not going to watch this either. Just list interest. Though Luke Cage was my favourite of the first seasons when it came out.

Luke cage was my favorite as well. I was surprised by this. In this case it works against the property that I need to follow five other shows to know what's going on. The little movie hints that say maybe we are connected but we are too scared to flat out connect also annoy me.

Time is too precious for average.

Lots of good in Luke Cage season 2.

They spend a lot of time developing 3 dimensional characters for both good guys and villains. And lots of good moments.

But it still feels like they stretch the story too much to get to the episode mandate, so it goes painfully slowly at times. You get many moments where they tease a reveal, or put a character in a room with another with key information, have them talk about how they have that information, and then don't get around to telling the character for 2 more episodes because reasons.

Also some of the character arcs and decisions later in the season don't really seem to match how that character should behave.

But still, better than recent Marvel Netflix stuff. I like LC's character sphere way better than the Defenders/Hand stuff.

Or at least I have so far. Not so sure how a season 3 would hold up.

Finished. Liked it quite a bit. The action scenes weren't always up to par for some reason but the plotting was good. Althea Woodard is a gift to everything she's in. Totally superb in every scene she's in, and there's some doozies. Lots of interesting direction this year too. That long shot of Misty going through a series of emotions on the move was so good. And as usual, the best soundtracked show in all of Marvel-dom.

I'm up to episode 9. I'm really enjoying.

Anyone else wish the directors would have Luke, or even Misty, crush something instead of punching and throwing people? I like the head slap to KO people, makes me chuckle, but I don't get the judo throws Luke is doing to the low level mooks. I think it would be wicked to see him grab and arm or shoulder and squeeze to put the guy out of the fight.

At least you have a chance to understand it. Every time he's on screen I've had to switch on the subtitles!
Even then they've written in the bloody accent so it's hard to understand.

Just write it in basic English so any English speaker/reader can read it easily. How hard is that?

Netflix and marvel couldn't agree on how they wanted season 3 to go. So Netflix cancelled it.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Wow, that seems a bit drastic.
