Normally, nudity is the standard for Malazan meet ups. I shall certainly not be wearing clothes. :)

Well, that certainly makes packing a whole lot easier!

Thanks IH for pinning this. So mark your calendars for Saturday 11 February to get yourself to Manchester for the resurrection of the Manchester Malazan Meetup. We have not had any real gatherings of note since Malaclypse and Hetan vamoosed to BC so hopefully we can manage a reasonable turnout to welcome Centzon (and other travellers).

Venue is TBD but safe to assume somewhere close to the centre of town for those getting trains

The only thing that may put a spanner in me being there is that it could end up being the falconry centre's opening weekend for the new season, in which case it will be all hands on deck. However, I'm hoping it will be the following weekend (it's usually fallen on Valentine's Day or thereabouts, so the weekend after would be closer to the normal date.) Fingers crossed! :(

I think stonemonkey and dag were both going to try and make it, has anyone poked brood?

TRB, do you know if you can make it yet?

Anyone I've missed?

Who else lives near Manchester now? I think tattersail is in the wirral, anyone else?

When are you going to Manchester? Are you travelling there from London? By train? Should we meet up and take the train together?

I haven't bought plane tickets yet, because I am a terrible planner and I do everything last minute. Don't know if I should fly over on Thursday and spend a little time in London, or fly over on Friday and travel directly to Manchester.... help?!

Yes I will need times. I'll be honest. If you were to come up Saturday am that would be easier for me as I don't get back from work till fairly late on Friday but if it's cheaper to come Friday night we can make it work.

I am still in - with the proviso that with the Wales v England 6N game kicking off at 10 to 5, will need to factor in when it comes to location

Luckily, Centz is one of the few Aussie Malazans that likes sports, so it shouldn't be a problem. B)

Then we shall do the things! With the drinks... and the peoples!

I probably wont have a mobile # for this trip but I will have data on my phone so can use online message thingies.

A word of friendly advice, book your train tickets as far in advance as you can. You do not want to be paying the prices they charge on the day, unless you have a spare kidney or two that you can sell off.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants.
