Netflix have released a bunch of trailers, I thought I'd collect them in one thread:

The trailers look good. I wonder what the danger is that the Defenders will be facing? The Hand? Some related mystical mumbo jumbo? It has to be some kind of magical threat since Stick is involved, right?
I wonder what they are going to do with Iron Fist. I hope they make him a lot better at fighting that Daredevil is shown to be.

Luke Cage trailer is rad as hell.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Power Man?
Are you saying you don't appreciate his old outfit either?
I wonder if they will have some kind of tiara gag somewhere in the season?

Love the DEFENDERS promo and the LUKE CAGE one...the Iron Fist one is too short to really give a sense of it, but it also looks good.

The Defenders are definitely going up against the Hand, first led by Elektra and then maybe by Daredevil or Kingpin, depending on which way they want to take the story (two seasons or three).
Luke Cage one is rad as heck - but I still have to question why an invulnerable strongman needs to use a car door to do anything that he's explicitly shown as doing sans car door like 15 seconds later. Maybe it's the symbology. "This LeBaron door means something deep, yo."
I hope they go the "Danny Rand is possibly insane" route. There was a live action revival of Mortal Kombat in which Raiden was either an elder lightning god or an escaped mental asylum patient. It was very interesting because of that tension and the Jessica Jones series showed that Netflix/the writing staffs have the ability to walk the tightrope of mental illness/story well and with dignity.

Admittedly I have yet to watch JJ S1 or DD S2, but I liked what I saw in the CAGE promo, and the whole concept of the Defenders appeals to me.
Pretty sure that's Stick's voice, which supports the idea that the opposition will be the Hand.

I thought that was strange as well.
I think it might be a reference to
Might have been optimistic thinking there was only a few gang members in the complex and the door would do the job.

Pardon me, it's a GMC Yukon door. Not a LeBaron door - those are too classy to rip up for a tv show.

The fact that I have never heard of those car models/manufacturers makes me wonder how many cars are driving around in America I've never seen on TV.

You've seen these two I've named many times, just not known what they were named.

The Tiara has been Unveiled!
Looks good. I really enjoy that we're finally getting a Marvel Hero with proper super powers. Interesting that Luke Cage appears to be doing everything in the open. I wonder what that will mean in terms of public exposure.

Looks pretty awesome. You'd think the low key Marvel show formula, where most of the issues are resolved by loner heroes beating people up, would get old -- but so far it really hasn't. I think it's cuz they're still writing them as people, which is key (maybe not quite so successfully w/ some of Daredevil's bad guys ).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I think it's because the Defenders ensemble plays right into what originally made these kinds of heroes dear to their readers. They're super heroes who do the things that we, the viewers, dream of but for one reason or another are powerless against.
This isn't Spider-man fighting a giant Robot in Times Square or the Fantastic Four stopping the Mole People invasion. This is regular people using their power to help their friends and family. Who use their powers to make their neighborhoods safer. There's social commentary there. Politics, economy, law and order. People problems. It's something relatable.
Still, I would love it if they cranked the "super" in superhero up a bit.

I think they will. You ask what the repercussions of Luke Cage being so out in the open are, and my guess is that it leads directly to the formation of The Defenders. Superhero teams just aren't as inconspicuous as lone wolves -- and with the rise of The Avengers as a worldwide phenomena (I'm speaking in-world here) The Defenders seem primed to be NYC's own local lower key version of that.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
