This is going to come down to the SK winning I think.

The only two people who were recruit proof were the buddy cops.
And Fener

The point was, it was too much of a crapshoot as to what you'd get. It's different from a cult recruiter, because they can normally recruit over and over. But this was a one-shot deal. So I think there should have been some kind of pre-knowledge attached to it (like Scout Out Target, you see they work at the coronor's office).
Anyway, the finds, and how to counteract those, are probably the most significant issue, while making the scum deadlier.

By the way, is Eloth still on the mafia payroll, or has he gone back to being a regular cop?

What does retirement entail, do you just announce I'm retiring you bung holes? I mean my ass is all over that thread, just hanging out after I blurted Khells name out..Just curious..Prob, make the bastard lock me up either way

Relaxing?? I should think not too much. You're a thieving bad cop on the mafia payroll. The fact that you shot a man just as he shot another person might let you wriggle out of this shooting. You'd be much better off spending your time praying that the IA doesn't dig into you too much.

Dammit. I should have made the "coroner's assistant" an "internal affairs cop" but I already had way too many badges running around.
So Grasp dropped a plant on the ground. For purposes of the game I think I'll have The Brass decide that the weapon must have belonged to the kidnapper.

I wonder if there's a graceful way to end this with the SK still alive and in town? As in a sequel?

It doesn't help that the coroner's are both on wacky time/work zones.

I'm reading through the SK role and I think the only way to do what you're thinking of (sequel, SK alive) is to reduce the number of kills for his VC and change how the underling interacts. For instance, Anom's death as it is now doesn't count towards the SK's 4 kill requirement (with the underling as 4th), but if you DO count his death, and also allow him to potentially recruit another underling and kill them (either by kidnap or vig) and have that also count, then the SK has a much better chance of hitting VCs before numbers get too low. Basically at this point SK would have 2/4 kills and needs 2 more, 1 of which *could* be a new underling.
That way, if the SK hits the "4 kill" mark, he quietly disappears since he only ever kills 4 people per city. Then town is left to deal with scum (easy victory probably). That may work.
Of course, all of this is dependent on you changing everyone's VCs. For cops, they have to eliminate both scum factions AND stop the SK, which is impossible if you want the SK to survive without being the only victor. As it is numbers are going down too fast for the SK to hit 4 kills as currently defined (they have 1/4 and definitely don't have 3-4 more game days to finish this off). Since SK was foiled nights 1/2, this problem was just compounded.
So, if police can win by eliminating scum, perhaps change VC to "if they catch the SK, then in the next game cops have some extra ability or advantage" kind of thing. That way the SK can still survive when town wins. If town eliminates scum before the SK hits 4 kills though, SK doesn't make VCs and should not win (hence the change to the kill requirements to make SK VCs easier).
Scum are definitely going to lose. So for Coroners/Police, catching the SK as a VC makes a sequel impossible without some changes I think.
Just my random thoughts.

By dropping the throwaway you are irredeemably a bad cop now.

Your VC has changed slightly. You no longer have to eliminate Grasp; he dropped a throwaway weapon at the latest crime scene. You have leverage over him now.

I think the premise is fantastic, but there appeared to be balance issues. I haven't read through the actual mechanics yet, but it felt that way. Just too many finders, and seemingly heals/guards/BPs, on town's side, and little to counteract that on a scum side which was also divided against itself.

also likely didnt help 2 scum members were eliminated at the start
still good setup
also you'll find in the pm in fener that it was really obvious in hindsight it was ultama who shot me. Unfortunately being distracted i couldnt put those dots together.
Anyways ima have to take a break from mafia. I keep getting busier and my performance this game wasn't as crisp as i'd like it.
I still think that d1 move was a great gambit. Woulda been shit if it din't pan out though, thats likely a one time gambit.

Actually Tatts and I both did. He got confused on who was killing who, so you were double dead. :-)

Good game! Looks like our team will bite it unless Tatts pulls something crazy off. At times I thought he was a traitor.

im reffering to day1, my pm said my bullet missed. That wasn't in the description as an outcome for returning. So when i pmed fener I said, it missed as if by magic. it dawned on me ultama was the guy who shot me. Dind't fully click till too late.
