How long, and I mean this seriously, how long before either a) a teacher loses their cool with a group of kids and shoots one or :killingme: a kid manages to get teacher's gun and kills the teacher/other kids?

Not that long I'm guessing.

Someone has left the most excellent of comments regarding the cognitive dissonance present in these cases;

I believe that BK once pointed out that there are some scenarios where AR 15s are needed like in the South where there is a wild hog infestation and given their numbers, speed and temperament a gun like that is needed by hunters

This reminds me of the emu war oddly enough...

Personally I don't see an issue with owning automatic rifles. A buddy of mine is a collector and has among other things a mauser and an arquebuse, not automatic weapons but hardly practical weapons. Some people like collecting things. I see an issue with jo smoe coming into a store and buying an automatic weapon. Owning a weapon should come with some sort of quality control in terms of a psych evaluation, background and criminal check and a licensing system where gun safety and gun handling are mandatory knowledge.

That is nice.

Perhaps that such a weapon is purely a tool for killing as many people as possible in as little time as possible and should never be made accessible to civilians as a hobby item?

It really saddens me that anyone can look at those photos and not see an immediate and clear reason that such weapons should not be available.

Pathos aside, i'm sure there's a context in that twitter im missing. I'm not going to start assuming that Kenya has the same problem as our neighbors to the south. (was this the result of a lone gunman, or something committed by boko haram/other groups etcs)

Given many people own such weapons without there being issue, i don't see the problem with the availability of weapons. The ease of availability yes, one should not be able to go into a gun store and buy a firearm. But perhaps include a lengthy process, perhaps make the owning of an assault weapon a separate license that requires 2-3 years to obtain once you have a basic handgun permit. This license would likely have some sort of psychological component, annual inspections to ensure proper storage etc...

End of the day its pure conjecture however, its not like anything will change after this latest incident.

Eating a tide pod once online for a dare vs. believing for a lifetime that the tobacco, coal, oil, and gun industries have your well-being at heart.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Go to your shelter. If kids are eating tide pods it is only a matter of time before they become overwhelming world washing machines!

Edit: What's up with that tide pod stuff, though?

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

If the arming teachers idea is implemented think about all of the orientation presentations that will have to performed before teachers and students across the country. What possibly could go wrong?

This is one of the first videos I remember went viral back in the day on YouTube, back in the day when you got a link in an email chain (remember those?) from a friend who was forwarding it on. Sometimes you have to dust off the classics to get across how ludicrous so called modern ideas are.

Also, does anyone remember ogrish.com back in the day? Man, that site had some disturbing shit.

Evolution in action. A new selective pressure had entered society. Pressure to eat poison to impress your peer group. Those with the genes to realize this is stupid will survive in greater numbers than those that don't.
