Highgarden must be truly obscene then. According to Natalie Dormer, we might see it.

With regards to the High Sparrow, does anyone else gets the feeling that he's maybe working towards a theocracy?
I have two ideas. Either he's a religious fanatic who truly believes what he's preaching. He does not strike me as being this naive. Second, I'm pretty sure he is aware that Tommen is not the son of Robert and therefore has no claim to the throne, so he's using Tommen to further his own agenda, thinking he can "guide" Tommen towards what he believes is the proper course of action in accordance with his faith. And if it turns out he can't control Tommen, well, he knows the truth about the boys heritage.

In an interesting way, this season seems to be weaving itself closer to the books. Still quite apart, but many things it looked like would be cut completely are now coming around. The River run stuff is making LS look increasingly likely. I would not have expected it, but the increased mentions of the brotherhood, and the moving of Brienne and Jaime there .... I'd now be almost surprised if they DON'T do it.
Not that I miss Dorne in any way, but kind of odd that the Lannisters have done NOTHING as yet about it (as if not even talking about it).
Good to see Bronn back in the next episode.
And, no, QT, Bran still isn't going to try to talk to Aerys.

I think we'll get Lady Stoneheart and i think it will be a season finale cliffhanger for Brienne and/or Jaime.

I think they just decided to kill Dorne dead and write it off as a failure. Shame. They didn't have to screw it up so badly.
True. I'm guessing at the end of season whatever someone will bring the Dornish army into a big battle at a key point just to show they didn't utterly forget about the place.

I think the High Sparrow is exactly what he appears to be, an extremely intelligent, very clever, charismatic religious fanatic who has tapped into the opportunities created by the massive disconnect between nobility and everyone else in 7K.
That said, i am really, REALLY hoping that Tommen's apparent conversion is a total scam and that Tommen turns out to make Joffrey look like a choirboy and jams a knife in the Sparrow himself.

I think it's obvious that Margaery's is a scam, she was super convincing though... but I'd have to re-watch that scene between Tommen and her to note if she lets on to him or not and possibly includes him in her plans (I doubt it).

Yup, Horn Hill was ludicrously sized. In the books it's reportedly a pretty strong fortress (it's near Dorne, so it has to be) and is one of the greater strongholds of the Reach, sworn directly to Highgarden, but it's almost certainly not that big. We have GRRM-approved pictures of Highgarden which appears to be smaller than Show-Horn Hill. I am a bit disappointed we didn't get to see Oldtown, but maybe we will later this season.
The show making Benjen Coldhands is fair enough. It's an obvious timekeeping, plot-condensig move and why not at this point? What was not so great was the insinuation in the "Making Of" featurette that Benjen was Coldhands in the book as well. He is not, period. What will be interesting to see is if George talks about it. It was a mistake that his comments about Benjen not being Coldhands got out in the first place, so now he'd in the place of confirming or denying it (ADWD says that Coldhands is many, many years dead so I don't really get why a public re-utterance of the statement is problematic, not after the weekend revelations about Brienne's family). I suspect he may just ignore it.
@ Terez: the red-roofed town is King's Landing. It's taken from a dream sequence in Season 4 (I think).

I know all the reasons why it didn't happen, but i really REALLY wanted Sam to just get up and start beating his father's face in with the bread basket.

I had a moment where I wanted him to just stand up, grab heartsbane and hold it to his father throat and threaten him.

I actually thought she was going to lose it WAY more harshly than she did...but good on her for standing up to him slightly at any rate.

That "dream sequence" with the dragon flying over KL was originally from the House of Undying in season 2.

Has Oldtown actually been confirmed for the show? If they're only going to do two short seasons after this one, Sam definitely doesn't have time to become a maester unless they gloss over several months and Sam is the fastest person in history to forge his chain. I suppose it's possible, since he has always been a voracious reader, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Sam turns tail and heads back to the Wall. His father knows where he's going and where to look for his sword; I can just see him laying siege to Oldtown. Maybe he won't be able to because Mace Tyrell calls in his bannermen for something? I dunno; stealing Heartsbane also seems very fanservicey. They'd be better off mining Dragonstone for obsidian.

I guess it depends on how important Marwyn, the Alchemist, and glass candles are to the show version of the story.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yeah, and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't manage to get much detail about this out of GRRM, and they decided not to bother. Now they've covered most of Sam's story in the books already published and they can go their own way if they want.

Hey man, anything can happen. I wonder why they specifically showed Bran that scene?
I know it was quick, but I thought that what Bran was seeing in his vision of Aerys was a solution to the walkers - Wildfire. It alternates between scenes of wildfire, including its creation, with scenes of the walkers and wights, with 'burn them all' repeated like 4 times. And then he wakes up.
Just a stab in the dark but that's what I got from it. Is there still shitloads of it in Kings Landing or did Tyrion use it all?

They don't depend on old stores any more; they can make it more quickly now because there are dragons in the world and their spells work better.

I'm not discounting Oldtown just yet, but I also think -- shot in the dark -- TV-Qyburn could actually cover a lot of the arcane stuff, if necessary. IIRC the horn is there in the satchel Jon found, and Sam has it, but otherwise it hasn't been discussed at all, so who knows?

A couple more ideas I had:
Margaery needs to get pregnant STAT. I kinda have a crackpot idea that she already is, and that's part of why the High Sparrow is a little soft on her, and also one of the ways she's manipulating Tommen. I don't think it's very likely, but it could be intriguing. And if she's not already, that HAS to be at the top of her list in terms of solidifying her place (and could play as a wicked mirror of Cersei).
The Waif is actually the one who is sentenced to die, because of her grudge against Arya. She's the one who's failed her test, and Jaqen is sending her to her death. The Many Faced God has other plans for Arya.
