Yeah, there being no break this year (from TWD right into FtWD), I dunno, it's all just overkill and way too much walking dead. I might watch a few more episodes of FtWD because I would like to see if the new characters are compelling. Plus I would like to know how they explain those still alive after the damn explosion and where that event took them initially. It will probably never be explained though.

The second episode of this season actually wasn't that bad, tbh. They did a "before" flash back which finds Madison and her children, with Domingo and Luciana surviving inside a baseball stadium. Growing vegetables and overall doing fine for themselves, all things considered ..... until - duh duh duh - seems as if they have been stricken with a weevil problem in their crops. But the big twist is the reveal of this new group, dubbed "The Vultures" by Domingo. They've got an interesting strategy to flourish in the zombie apocalypse it seems. It seems they don't actively antagonize or attack other groups, instead they just wait for the inevitable break down and collapse of how other groups have carved out their niche in the world and then come in and pick everything clean. One way they become aware of other groups is to embed a spy (adolescent girl) in the groups and then she leads the Vultures to the place where they have all their valuables (like the baseball stadium - food, cache of weapons, etc) The Vultures then just set up camp outside and play the waiting game. The Vultures are responsible for the numbered flags that have been seen around. From what I gather, it seems they use it as an identifier of a place they've marked for scavenging. The number either indicates the number of walkers they've cleared or the total number of living they have scouted that will need to fall before they can sweep in and clean the place out. I'm not quite sure yet.

I'm still interested to know how Madison got back with the others after the damn explosion. I wonder if the show will ever answer that. Probably not knowing how frustrating these shows can be.

Wow, second episode and they already took it there. Nick killed. I believe he was the very first character we were introduced to - Season 1 / Episode 1.

And guys, I think how the episodes have been playing out - colorful flashbacks then to current, washed out / colorless world - that more have been lost. I think Nick stopping to pick those blue bonnet flowers may have been suggesting that Madison is dead. Maybe that is why they are so adamant about tracking down the Vultures? Man, if things keep going this way, we could have a new entire cast before season's end. Hold on to your butts, walking dead fans.

Wow. I got around to watching the 'Talking Dead' for the latest episode. So, I guess Nick dying was not originally planned but had to be written in because the actor who plays Nick asked to be released from the show to pursue other opportunities. The actor didn't appear on Talking Dead either, which usually when cast are killed they make an appearance to discusses the pertinent episode and say their goodbyes / thank yous to the show and fans. Chris Hardwick said it was because he is over in England and so couldn't make it on Talking Dead, but they did a Skype with the actor who plays Morgan when he was in England. So I wonder if there is hard feelings there?

My co-worker convinced me to watch that episode, without spoiling why. I watched this weeks as well. Interesting.

I had the same feeling about Madison and the blue bells. I was also wondering if they are keeping her hostage. The El Camino dude showed a remarkable lack of concern about Nick. I kept thinking it was because he had an ace in the hole (Madison).

You could be right regarding Madison. Also might explain why Strand, Alicia, and Luciana are so desperate to find them (the Vultures deviated from their 'wait them out and pick clean what is left' philosophy and attacked them instead).

Also revealed in last night's episode, but not confirmed, is that Jenna Elfman's character is dead (which would be a short tenure on a show for a more well known actor/actress). Whether it is true or not, it seems like it is being used as a plot device to nudge the cowboy from being passive to going all out pew! pew! pew! with both his six shooters.

I'm all caught up. I like the new characters, good thing too.

The most recent episode was pretty solid I thought. We got the backstory of John Dorie. And got more info about Laura/Naomi (Jenna Elfman's character). Although there is still a lot to be learned about her and why she is like the way she is.

John Dorie showed how capable he is with his six shooters. I hope we see more pewpewpew pewin'. Although it's not very practical in the post apocalyptic world where scrounging for ammunition is difficult.

Still have yet to see Madison and Daniel.

Another solid episode I thought. Will John Dorie survive?

Obviously they are doing this window narrowing on the mystery of what happened at the baseball diamond (with 'before' and 'now'). So, Naomi helps the settlement recover what they need (food, seeds, etc.) to rebuild and we find out what happened to her before. Madison flaunts their bounty to the Vultures' leader. The Vultures realize the waiting game for the settlement to collapse so they can pick clean what's left is no longer worth the wait and book it out of there. But, when we jump to the 'now', we find out that Naomi (aka Laura) is now with the Vultures. What happened at the settlement and where is Madison? duh-duh-duuuuuuuun!

Hopefully they don't drag it out and we get to the bottom of things when the mid-season episode airs in two weeks.

And so ends the sad ballad of Madison and her heroic fall.

I wonder on what tangent the show takes those who are left.

Is she dead? I think they kinda left the door open for that.

Indeed she is. Confirmed on Talking Dead after show. Hardwick wanted to ease the audience's minds and so asked what projects she has next. She'll be working on the Deadwood movie this Fall, so she will be doing just fine.

Sounds good.

That episode annoyed me. Hey, a LAW rocket just knocked the door off the SWAT truck, Alicia is pushing whatsherface out the door, lets revisit "I just want your story" character obsession.

I agree 100%. The season up to the last two episodes was pretty good, imo. And then dumb shit happens those last two episodes. The lets go rescue Melvin and bring him back plan was stupid. And even dumber, Alicia drives them to the parking lot outside the baseball stadium and just sits there while the Vultures slowly drive their trucks filled with zombies, parks the trucks and opens the doors. She still sits there as the zombies slowly shuffle to surround them. Fuck I wanted to turn it off right then and there.

And yeah, in the mid-season finale, the rocket is only powerful enough to knock a door off. Yeah right. And magically, all the zombies that basically filled an entire baseball field either were killed by the truck's machine guns, were focused like a laser on Madison's road flare and persued her, or just magically disappeared because there were way more when they initially crashed into the field.. Not a one to make it difficult for Alicia or Morgan to get back to the truck. Yeah right.

This returns tonight.

Oh boy, and guess what. The "Talking Dead" after show returns. Hosted by the man, the myth, the legend - Chris Hardwick.

I think I'm more interested in watching Talking Dead then the actual show, just to see how they handle the whole *cough *ahem. Well you guys already know.

Any you #MeToo #Time'sUp trumpeters gonna tune in?

Completely missed that it started last night. I should have it recorded.

Well, it seems as if they are trying to incorporate new things to do with the zombies. So they took a note from those horrible Sharknado movies on the SyFy channel and have a "Zombiecane" going on at the moment. It will continue into the next episode.

Morgan says he is going back to Alexandria and is trying to bring as many of those that are left back with him. The camera interview, machine gun truck driving chick (forget her name) says she will drive him. They plan to leave in the morning, but looks like the Zombicane (along with other things) may have other plans for them.

Alicia, Strand, and Luciana found a walled in, abandoned villa style house complex that is well equipped, especally with wine, because Strand has been spending his days staying drunk. Luciana has been listening to music all day, to drown out anything left in the world. So basically, they have sort have given up.

Not sure what is going on with Alicia, as she's isolated herself from Strand and Luciana and makes an attempt to help someone (with Morgans aid) who was tacking help notes on zombies that were shambling towards the villa.

Cowboy and GF are on the mend and have little asshole girl with them. Cowboy wants to eventually go back to cabin with GF and girl, and so declines Morgan's invite to go with him back to Alexandria.

On a separate note. About Taking Dead afterward. Chris Hardwick cried at the beginning of the show, thanking fans for support. Yvette Nicole Brown was there to give him friendship and support, hugging him multiple times to help him at the beginning of the show. Actress who plays Luciana and one of the show runners / writers were the other two there to talk about the episode.

Have the ratings dropped enough that they are going to merge the shows? Is that the point to all of this? Also, Zombiecane? Really?

There's rumors that the two shows will merge, but nothing confirmed. Supposedly, a group known as "The Whisperers" is going to be introduced to TWD this season. I wonder if, after the internecine culling of Rick (and others?) this season on TWD (which will probably take all season) that when "The Whiperers" are introduced, that they will somehow be antagonists that FtWD hooks up with. Although I guess that probably won't happen if Morgan is driving the FtWD ship. As he wants to return to Rick. Although if he comes back, only to see that Rick has been killed by his own, that may flip a switch in his head so that now they are the bad guys.

I dunno know really, these all are just rumors. If TWD and FtWD ever merge, it will probably take at least three seasons for it to ever happen. Also, haven't the ratings for both shows dropped pretty significantly? I imagine there might be a bump for TWD this season as former regular viewers may want to see how Rick goes out, but then after that, I can see it dropping even more.

Hahaha, anyone still watching? I ended reading Children of Earth and Sky through most of this weeks episode. Alicia and whats-her-face ended up in the same house in the middle of the storm? How convenient. Ugh, so much maudlin navel-gazing this episode.

Why are you here? You are a garbage person. Look I put the pictures back, someone should. Zzzzzzzzzz.
