Do y'all buy the huge bk guides for Bethesda games? I do
What is a bk guide? If you're talking about walkthrough and tips and tricks I usually just use something like IGN. Those guides are free and can be updated at will.

I love this game. I love the weapon crafting system. I now have half a dozen very specialized weapons that each fulfill a very specific function. It feels incredibly satisfying to build a weapon that perfectly fits the scenario you require it for.
I've gone with the rifle skill, and I built a small rifle, short stock, short barrel, heavy receiver and all that. It has a massive kick, but better range and VATS efficiency than a shotgun. Perfect for large buildings, or for dealing with Ghouls amongst other things. Or my laser musket sniper, which when charged with six shots does almost 900 damage in sneak mode.

It occurs to me that I haven't actually dropped any points into any specific weapon specialization. That might be why I feel like my damage is suffering at times.
I have been working on my power armor upgrades and weapon upgrades so I am level 4 in gun nut, 3 in Science mods, 3 in armor mods. My weapons and armor are all getting pretty crazy but maybe I should choose something like riffle specialization as well.

I assume the choice was made because they need to keep the amount of dialogue down because of the voice acting. A stupid choice, but alas.
I find this hard to believe. There isn't actually that much dialogue in the game and what there is, is super poorly performed. I cannot imagine the voice work in this game cost a fortune.
Witcher 3 in comparison feels like a fucking shakesperian theater performance.

I've been holding off on furthering the main quest lines. I definitely think that the Railroad are the people I want to side with (currently teaming up with Deacon and those cool shades of his). But I also love the Brotherhood of Steel. It appears that they have a zero tolerance policy towards synths (even though I've been walking around the airship with a robot detective) so I can't really imagine siding with them.
I wonder what happens if I continue to work together with both sides. Will I have to betray one? Can I work out some mutual understanding? Some how I suspect the zealous Knight wont really want to play nice with the Railroad.
I've also yet to actually talk with any Institute people. They are positioned as being the big bad but this being a role playing game I assume at some point I get to hear their version and they will explain that what they are doing is for the common good or something like that.

@Morgy
I can barely hold it together speaking with these fools.
You have my numbers - get in touch mate and further, get your skinny arse over here as soon as you can fucking manage it. Also, I always win

Apt - the Brotherhood in this are pretty unpleasant. The vibe I got was 'kill everything we hate and nick their tech'. There's no middle ground for the three antagonistic factions; I think only the Minutemen let you stay sort of neutral.

I always end up forgetting quests. I did one this week-end that also opens for the arrival of the Brotherhood. That was an impressive surprise. And now the whole wasteland is changed in a really neat way. Fallout 4 is in many ways like Fallout 3, but you can tell how much more hardware is utilized this time around.
At any rate, I found a Grognak outfit and Grognak's Axe, and is almost tempted to add some skills into melee.

The best thing about the Brotherhood showing up in the environment is that their planes keep getting shot down. Which means I can walk over and loot their corpses for delicious, very expensive power armor pieces + what ever weapons they have. All parts of the buffalo will be used.

What's not so cool is when they appear over your head, get shot down and their Vertibird crashes on top of you. Christ knows how I pulled through that but it was Stimpak city for a while.

Agreed, the Brotherhood have not had a particuliarly good campaign in my game. I counted at least 10 Vertibirds shot down with several knights dead.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I've only met the Elder once, but I can't help but wonder if he's a synth. There was a series of chapters for a book about him and it repeated over and over again how he was a pinacle of what it means to be human, what all humans should strive for and all that. I mean, he has grown up in the Brotherhood, so it doesn't make sense, though maybe he was switched out later.
I don't think this is a spoiler. As I'm specualting based on stuff that is available from the moment you meet him, and which is as far as I've gotten.

What vile profligate theory is this? Never question the elder or you'll be Ad Victoriam'd off of the nearest blimp.

I've seen 4 vertibirds get shot down and two get hijacked by the Gunners (and then shot down by me). The attrition rate for the BoS is horrific, it's like the siege of Pale for them.
The meaning of life is BOOM!!!

Just found a strange suit of power armor called X-01. I think it is the power armor from the cover of Fallout 1 or 2. It looks sort of Alien. Can't wait to start upgrading this thing.

It's basically the Enclave armor and it is BADASS when fully upgraded. I have found two whole sets of it and the amount of damage it can soak is just staggering. It's thoroughly worth upgrading to its maximum potential.

The X-01 is incredibly tough. The base T-45 has like 50hp per piece. I think the base X-01 has like 200hp per piece. Carried me through the last two missions with only about five stimpaks used.

Oh it's much higher than that at full upgrade. I have it at Mark VI now with titanium plating. I think the chest piece has over 900hp.
I think I am going to install a Jetpack on it when I gather more Aluminum.
I also just found a Gatling Laser. It runs on power cores which is a bit expensive in my opinion but fully upgraded it has a hell of a punch.

A loomer num (silly Americans) is always in short supply. I never really upgraded my power armour on the first run so maybe this time I will.

As always I've focused on the intelligence and perception tree, but I have to admitt, the luck tree looks Incredible.
I've added one point to the finding ammo thing, and the result is that I have more than a thousand in all the normal kinds. I can't run out, no matter how much I shoot at things.

Mysterious Stranger is great. If you have one particular companion with you, they comment on his appearances.
