Simmo, do you read Mark Lawrence in your bubble bath, with a glass of wine?

How else does one read a book?

Fifty Shades of Jorg.

"I missed that purity in myself. Only yesterday every choice came easy. Black or white. Stab Gemt in the neck or don't. And now? Shades of grey. A man can drown in shades of grey."

"You can cut seven shades from a man. Scarlet arterial blood, purple from the veins, bile like fresh-cut grass, browns from the gut, but it all dries to somewhere between rust and tar. Time for Red Jorg to take himself to a stream and clean off the fort-men. I watched the dirt swirl away, pinkish in the water."

Just a couple of related quotes from the trilogy :D

Now you've done it, you naughty boy. Simeon's going to have to take another bath - a cold one this time - and he's already had his one for this month!

He always was a man of class, Jorg.

I miss that guy!

Listen, I love Jorg, but Jalan is where it's at.

The bits where they meet or Jalan meets the same people are good :)

i loved those moments for exactly that reason.

Listening to Thorns trilogy on Spotify (Joe jamison narrates)
I forgot how god awful of a human Jorg is.
On to book two, and the scene with Justice still breaks my heart, I can deal with violence to humans, but not animals

Mark posted the WIP cover for his next novel DAUGHTER OF CROWS! You can see it on his FB page.

Also here is the synopsis which sounds amazing!

Quote

Set a thief to catch a thief. Set a monster to punish monsters.

The Academy of Kindness exists to create agents of retribution, cast in the image of the Furies—known as the kindly ones—against whom even the gods hesitate to stand. Each year a hundred girls are sold to the Academy. Ten years later only three will emerge.

The Academy’s halls run with blood. The few that survive its decade-long nightmare have been forged on the sands of the Wound Garden. They have learned ancient secrets amid the necrotic fumes of the Bone Garden. They leave its gates as avatars of vengeance, bound to uphold the oldest of laws.

Only the most desperate would sell their child to the Kindnesses. But Rue … she sold herself. And now, a lifetime later, a long and bloody lifetime later, just as she has discovered peace, war has been brought to an old woman’s doorstep.

That was a mistake.

I will never NOT get his books hardcover and pre-order when I can. They are simply always entertaining.

Same - he's one of the few authors i always pre-order but then wait for the trilo to be completed before I read it. It helps that he's steady about producing books, if he starts a trilo, i'll have the whole thing w/in three years or close.

You agreed. We all just nodded vaguely and smiled. I may have had my fingers crossed behind my back too.
