I find it funny that the NFL seems to be ZOMG YOU GUYS DEFLATED FOOTBALL'S A BIT THIS IS TERRIBLE in the same season they went "Huh, beating up your wife? Umm don't, I guess? Have an arbitrary fine..."

That. And all the balls were handled and checked pre-match by the officials, as well.

So now there's this big scam reported against Pats saying they had under inflated pig skins giving them a huge adv over Colts. Idk wtf is going on but lots of people want them disqualified from SB.

I've even heard some say that Colts should play Denver and let the winner take on Seattle.

The issue is that it makes the balls easier to catch in the conditions (both in cold and in rain) then properly inflated balls.

Now, it isn't as if the Pat's air attack crushed the Colts or anything, the Pats crushed the colts in every single facet of the game. I don't, and have doubts that anyone who isn't a colts homer, think that if these balls hadn't been deflated that the Colts would have won.

What it does do is tarnish, once again, the Pat's. They get a reputation for cheating and another 'footnote in the annals of history'.

I read one sportswriter who wrote that if it does indeed get traced back to Belicheck, meaning we have a serial cheater, a lifetime ban would not be an inappropriate punishment.

The Patriots and Belicheat would now have us believe that weather and atmospheric conditions led to the deflation of the balls used by the Patriots during the game ..... but fails to address why balls used by the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game evidently didn’t experience a similar air pressure drop. These balls were exposed to the same weather and atmospheric conditions as Patriots footballs.

I think I am right that the Pats have not won a SuperBowl since being found guilty of " Spygate ".

Personally I don't think this latest incident effected the result of the game, but I am starting to wonder if an asterisk should be going next to their results in the history books.

We got our asses straight whipped. No amount of deflation changed that. Out-coached (severely), out-executed, and out-hearted.

Which makes the deflation thing all the more bizarre. No one here thinks it changed the nature of the game, there is a lot of head-shaking "only the fucking Patriots would do this" laughing taking place. It's just weird.

I'm going to cheer for a 0-0 tie that ends up in a 1 on 1 hamburger drill for 5 players, like penalty kicks.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Belichick's latest comment was that the Pats followed the law to the letter.

Which means not to the spirit, I guess. But that's also why the NFL rulebook is so bizarrely convoluted, and creates a lacune for anything not mentioned.

Imho, it would be bullshit to tie the pumping of any ball to a HC. With 53 men to manage, a playbook to adjust, an opposition to scout and a game to run, this is not HC territory.

Glued to the couch. And wow. The game is stellar. Especially when compared to last year.

Darth Hoodie did well with all those dink-and-dunk passes and playing a third down passing back on 1-2 and 3 down.

First time I am actually glad New England wins a game, I think.

OMFG!!!!!!! INSANE!!!! That's going down in history of the League

Wow. That last play call by Seattle was the worst I've ever seen and I'm a Bucs fan who suffered through Mike Shula's atrocious attempts for Tony Dungy back when. How the F do you take the ball out of Lynch's hands when you need 2 yards at most with 2 tries???!!! The Pats D hadn't stopped him for a loss or no gain the entire game, that I can think of. The absolute WORST!! That playcaller should thank the lord this isn't soccer. People have been killed over a mistake that costly!

That was the best possible way for that to shake out.

Seattle loses.
Patriots win is invalid because of their cheating.

Both lose!
