Yea don't think I'm supposed to be in Silver 2. It keeps giving me people 2+ TH levels ahead of me...

I just want moar builders and I certainly don't want to pay them for gems. I'm such a put upon mass.

Just keeping going up and up and up, hitting that TH outside the base. Get your trophies, and gems for the achievement and then keep going until you reach Crystal, that's another 250 gems. Once done just attack bases with 1 barb and cancel the match, you will drop back down.

I've yet to see a TH outside a base that I can remember. And I skip a lot of bases.

Obdi, you should be able to see lots. Don't worry about their level, you should be hitting a TH8 that is outside its base. They won't revenge attack you because your loot will be too small/insignificant

He doesn't even have to go all the way up to crystal. Just up to 1250 to get 450 trophies.

Can I suggest that you build more Gold and Elixer storage containers. The more you have spread out the less one hit hurts. Also just from looking at your town. You should put your TH inside of the the walls by all of your defenses at least while you are attacking. Move it out before you go to bed. Otherwise it is too easy for someone to just drop on and attack it. People can drop troops in to the forest to attack you. So offer up some targets sure but not more then 50% of your buildings. I try to find these too, and I haven't seen one since I got over 1000 trophies.

I've had a very hard time getting over 1100 trophies. Everyone in this tier seems to be a level or three ahead of me!

My attack strategy, though I only tend to do well with this on bases with only 1 mortar, is to have 5+ giants start attacking the wall nearest the mortar to draw its fire, then send wallbreakers in to destroy the wall. The giants can usually go and finish off the mortar at that point. The majority of the rest of my troops are usually archers, and I usually spread those out in a big circle around the whole base. That and I have 10 goblins that I'll send through whatever breech I can make nearest the resources. The only other real pain in the arse defenses are the Wizard towers. If those are vulnerable (i.e. I can place characters near them) I often try to take them out first by placing archers one at a time in a semi-circle around it until they've destroyed it, so it can't do splash damage and kill more than one archer at a time. The same strategy would work with mortars, but people generally keep their mortars behind walls.

Do you have a healing spell yet? If not you should upgrade and get one of those. Then try throwing your giants at the wall put a healing spell over them and send your Wall breakers. Invest and upgrade your spells and troops. That is where the pay off starts to really work. Also upgrade your bases so that you can have more troops. At lower levels I had good luck with 9 giants, 30 goblins, 6 wall breakers, and the rest archers.

I do not - my TH isn't a high enough level yet. I only just got the lightning spell. All the characters I use regularly except goblins are fully upgraded, including my lightning spell.

I can currently create 125 troops. I'm currently working on upgrading my defenses, then will move on to upgrading all my mines and elixir collectors, then I'll upgrade my TH again. It's such a frikkin long process, I wish I hadn't squandered my gems and had my 3rd builder! That's why I've been trying to get to 1250!

It is a very long process. Squandering the Gems is the mistake that I made on my first account. For my second I kept every gem and managed to get my third building pretty quick.

Yeah, but not enough, and not quickly enough.

Some thoughts.

Hoard gems to spend on builder hits. Do not spend a single gem on anything until you have all five.

Leave your th outside of the walls. There are very few exceptions to this, your war base is one such exception.

Fuck healers.

There is a CoC podcast, search for clash of clans podcast on the App Store. The guys who do it aren't always on the ball strategically, but are pretty funny sometimes. Also, a guy from my clan is a frequent guest and mentions my clan a lot.

When farming, always bring a few gobs, they have saved many raids for me. Not a lot, I use 15 of my 220 barracks slots on them. At low th levels you can use all goblin armies to surprising success.

You should be able to th snipe your way to the 1250 achievement with no problem. Make sure you have a chunk of gold when starting this, you might have to hit next a lot.

Don't bring too many giants at the expense of not having enough wallbreakers and archers.

When war raiding, always pull and destroy the enemy clan castle troops before attacking, get the heroes too if you can.

I have been playing for a while and love talking about this game. If any of you newer players want advice I am happy to provide it.

I didn't know people could drop in the forest. That's dumb! :(

I've reverted to a more normal defensive setup. Also, I'll build more storage after I upgrade my defenses more...

You can use the storage to make it hard for them to get to your defense. You should build everything first, and then upgrade it.

EDIT also, and stop caring about trophies...
