Thanks Venge, this base is quite good against most attacks, I use a different variation of this in war, similar wall layout, just defences and buildings in different places, to assure maximum repulsion.

I suspect that he likes to have his defensive troops attack the attackers after they have taken a bunch of hits from his defenses so that they maximize damage on the attacking enemy. But that is just a guess.

I have defense troops inside that do not come out of the castle until someone gets within its range perimeter. When you fight in war you will see that it is hard to 3 star a base that has its clan castle in the middle. We go with mostly archers and 2 wizards. They go in order of strength, so someone may get close and only draw 10 archers out, they then lead them elsewhere and deal with them, but when they come to do the main attack, the wizards come out of no where and fucking annihilate them.

Only attack that gets more than 1 star on me is a dragon attack, and they are totally not worth it.

Yeah blend it is vital to center your clan castle so it can't be lured. It really trashes people's attack when 30 archers pour out and just slaughter enemy troops.

Center the clan castle, get heroes close enough to center so they can't be lured outside of the walls, leave the town hall outside of the walls. Except for a war base, put your town hall inside for that.

It works, and I copied it from a base I tried to attack in war with hogs and got demolished. This current war I have defended 4/6 attacks, and the two attacks that got through only got 1 star.

In terms of my normal base, the only ones that take stars are the really powerful, or clever ones. My defense has been propelling me up in leagues.

That is my regular base, which is an adaptation of my war base. Last war I had 6/9 defends. That means 9 people attacked me to try for 3 stars. The 9th person succeeded.

So I just changed my base to be in the configuration of a couple I've had massive problems with. My TH is 5 and this seems to work well (against me at least)... waiting for attacks now. If you guys want to look at my base and offer suggestions, I'd certainly be amenable.

Trying to make 1250 trophies while under level 30...

ps - Wish I could put walls down/upgrade them without using a builder. Why can I do traps but not walls? Preposterous!

My problem at the moment is I am updating a bunch of defences so I am getting owned every time I get attacked...

I can't really find anyone I can get more than 1 star on at this level, and no one I can break that has any kind of real resources. I had found one and I DCed at 97% and when it let me log back on the attack never happened and I didn't find that person again.

Dude had 2 towers guarding one side of his base (and a cannon) and was upgrading both towers at once. I had blown through and was just watching my troops waltz up to his corner build huts and 'You've lost connection'.

I try to upgrade 1 defense, currently Tesla, and the rest non defense, currently elixir drills and gold mines.

It is very easy to get to 1250 trophies. Easiest way is to build a lot of archers. Then go to "find next match" often enough until you find a Town Hall on the outside of the walls. Attack it with 1 or 2 archers (make sure there isn't a mortar protecting it) and get the victory. End match and you have a bonus elixir and gold reward. Immediately look for next match, rinse and repeat. 1250 trophies in the bag within the space of a few hours.

With regards to walls, at the earliest level, ALWAYS, have a builder free for your walls. When you upgrade a TH the first thing you should do is purchase everything you can that you do not have to wait for. ie, purchase 30 walls straight away, they a dirt cheap and you can concentrate on upgrading them and that afterwards. Bombs and traps are immdeiate as well as far as I can remember. The next thing you should do is purchase the things that take the least amount of time. Once you have bought everything you can at that level then the next option is to upgrade it all, and this will take the most amount of time.

If you are talking about war, then I suggest you get to a level were you are able to purchase hogs. Even at level 1 I was 3 starring the right base all the time with high level heal spells. Now that my hogs are level 2 they continue to be awesome. I take 50 archers and 30 hogs to war, with a dragon in my clan castle.

If you are talking about raids and upping your trophy count, then there will be hardly any bases worth 100%. It would cost you too much elixir to be productive unless you are on a trophy push.

lastly, to get a lot of elixir, and I mean a lot, you should raid with equal barbs and archers, barbs to draw fire but still hit the drills and archers to hit the same drills but further away. You should look for bases that have their drill pumps full and that have a lot of elixir/gold to loot.

With the above strategy you should not worry about trophies, sometimes you get 50% on a base sometimes you don't, but you will get the loot you need for upgrades/walls etc.

You can raid every 21 minutes with the above strategy as well.

It costs me 30000 elixir to build 100 archers/barbs and takes 21 minutes to finish building them all. Yesterday I was on 50k elixir because I upgrade a barracks for Valkeyrie. I am now on over 2 million.

Saying 'upgrade to a level for hogs' doesn't help if/when the rest of my base falls far behind. My builders are going 24/7, it just takes time to upgrade them.

I don't like going barb/arch, because they blob up and get blown up by a mortar.

I do not think you can be an effective "attacking" threat until you get to TH6, but you can beat people in and around your level. Personally I upgraded everything before going up a TH including walls.

I think I will be stuck on TH8 for quite sometime, as walls are very expensive and I am one level behind on them. If people go aerially or with hogs then walls are useless.

Upgrading 1 Tesla, 1 Air defence and my dark elixir storage at the moment. My drills/mines are all level 11 (except dark elixir drills which are level 2 and very expensive) so they can't go up any further.

Yea don't think I'm supposed to be in Silver 2. It keeps giving me people 2+ TH levels ahead of me...

I just want moar builders and I certainly don't want to pay them for gems. I'm such a put upon mass.
