The so-called “Holy Emperor” Souther’s army approached the city of Southern Cross from the West. Shin, who was so consumed with reports of a man approaching the palace whose description matched Kenshiro’s, wasn’t fully prepared to meet any real direct onslaught. He sent out what men he could spare to slow Souther’s advance, but they were quickly swept aside.

Souther wasn’t even forced to dismount from his slave carried palanquin to join the fight himself. He was enjoying fully what had become a complete rout of Shin’s troops, and what had essentially become his victory parade towards the palace, when Raoh’s army approached formed out of the wasteland dust at the rear of his column.

His men, taken completely off their guard by the surprise attack were soon killed or put to flight. With a sneer, Souther dismounted from his palanquin and faced the man who had styled himself “King of Fists”.

Raoh, looking magnificent on his black charger looked down at Souther. Long considered to be of a match in the martial arts, spectators, fighters and peasants alike, emerged from the shadows to watch what promised to be an amazing duel. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Most unfortunately for Souther, as Raoh had learned of Souther’s closely kept secret.

Raoh dismounted from his horse and removed his helmet and cape. “Your empire is now mine, Souther.” Stand aside and join me as my subordinate, or be killed. We are the strongest men in the world, none can stand before us. “

“It is you who should bow to me, Raoh. I will rule, and give you Shin and Kenshiro. I threw away love long ago, so Yuria shall be yours as well.”

“Yuria is already mine.” Raoh flashed forward and struck. Souther evaded the initial strike and countered. Raoh made no effort to block Souther’s blow, but merely used that simultaneous opening to strike Souther’s vital pressure points. Souther, lept back, and cried out in surprise when his legs buckled beneath him.

“Impossible!” Souther grated. “You cannot harm me. What have you done? How?”

“I know your secret.” Raoh said quietly. “Your Dextrocardia Situs Inversus Totalis has become known to me. Your heart is on the right side, so all your pressure points are reversed. “
Raoh snapped his fingers and Souther straightened like a puppet on strings, his legs moving of their own volition. “Souther, you will walk 10 paces and then expire. Leave Kenshiro to me.”

“You are a fool, Raoh, I was the only one who could defeat Kenshiro. Now he will kill you all. “ Souther took a third shaky step, then a fourth. “I will be watching you…” he forced out. Eight steps…Nine steps…”From Hell.”

Korabas is dead. He was Souther, and Trull’s son.

Were Korabas's claims of abilities true it does raise an interesting question - a Warlord with major NK defences, does Kenshiro have similar beefed up abilities? A LP? Multiple NKs?

“Raoh. It is also time for you to return to hell.”

Raoh turned, and there he was. Face a mask of grim determination, Kenshiro stood facing his elder brother.

“Kenshiro. Our appointed time has not yet come.”

“The time is now, Raoh. Your ambition has clouded your mind, and has made an evil of Hokuto Shin-ken. The time for this to stop is now.”

“Kenshiro, Souther was no match for me, and neither are you. Here I come.”

Raoh’s enormous body moved with lightning speed, two fists coming down with rath and vengeance toward Kenshiro.
They did not connect. As if a ghost, Kenshiro slid around Raoh’s bulk like a specter. Raoh’s attack was not over. Kenshiro raised his hands to block Raoh’s spinning backfist, the blow so hard that he slid backwards in the dust, yet kept his feet.

Kenshiro shook himself free of his torn and shredded shirt and assumed a stance of the Hokuto Shin-ken.

“Kenshiro, there can be no retreat from this battle. I will kill you.”

“Raoh, there has never been any retreat, from any of this. Our master and brothers are waiting. For you.”

The spectators were in awe at the speed of the attacks that commenced. They watched as the battle raged back and forth, both fighters god-like, yet evenly matched.

Suddenly there was a pause, as both men stopped to regard the other. Their warrior spirits charged the air like electricity, and dust devils formed from nothing but pure energy to spin away and lash at the people who were watching.

Words passed between them. Words that the spectators could not understand, but knew to be of vast import. They spoke of the history between them, the bond they had shared, and the paths that had led them to this day. But today, this day would end for one of them.

After this brief respite, Kenshiro and Raoh launched themselves at each other, simultaneously unleasing Hokuto Shin-ken’s most incredible move, the “Hundred Crack Fist”. Hundreds of simultaneous strikes flew. And in that moment, Raoh heard Souther’s voice in his mind. “Raoh…once I fell, you were doomed. Only I could have defeated Kenshiro, but instead I have helped him to defeat you. My wait for you in hell was shorter than I could have hoped. Mwa hahahahahaha.”

It was there under the rain of fists that Raoh felt his body split open from the strikes that Souther had delivered only moments before. And that was his undoing. Both evenly matched, but now with this advantage, Kenshiro’s Hokuto Hyakuretsu-ken was superior.

Raoh’s huge body fell to the earth and the earth trembled.

Kenshiro stood then, over his brother and heard Raoh’s final words. “Thank you. You have saved me from what I would have regretted. Once again, I will be waiting for you… to catch up.” And with that, he died.

Kenshiro closed his eyes and shed tears. “Raoh, I will save Yuria and we will live a happy life. Living out my destiny will be my gift to you, and a gift to the legacy of Hokuto Shin-ken.”

Kessobahn is dead. He was Raoh, and Gnaw.

He can only NK one at a time, so at worst we would've been in that situation tomorrow. Even then though, I'm optimistic that the 3rd leader would be smart enough to do something stupid to get himself lynched if that happened.

I like how shin put the dextrocardia thing in the scene as if to validate it, but its surrounded by terms like "Hokuto Shin" and "Cracking Fists" so it's totally out of place

Actually, this is exactly why I can't watch anime dubbed into English. It sounds so much cooler in Japanese, and pretty lame in English.

It depends on how they translate it. Sometimes they do (bad) literal translations of the terms, othertimes they are smart and just leave the Japanese terms as Japanese. The sacred martial art of "Hokuto Shin-Ken" sounds better in English than "The Fists of the North Star" anyways.

Then again, some things just have dumb names in both the English and Japanese versions - the Lion King Organization anyone?

Regardless, Dextrocardia is not a translation of Emperor's Armor, it's an explanation! Do they ever actually refer to dextrocardia in the manga/anime, or is that just what fans have figured it out to be?

Yes, almost all of the literal translations of the techniques in this anime sound lame in English. It is better when they just use the Japanese.

I wonder if anyone has done a linguistics study on this phenomenon, because it's not just anime. The literal translation of the sword school I used to be a part of is also a weird sounding mouthful in English. It's something like "Heavenly God-Gifted Righteousness Way."

I'm up late and might not be on particularly early tomorrow so might as well jot some thoughts down before we resume tomorrow morning.


So, Korabas was a warlord after all and Kessobahn turned out to be one, too. Interestingly, Kesso was very critical/disbelieving of Korabas' reveal, which says to me the warlords do not have the same abilities - who knows what the last one out there has, hopefully something good. Doesn't give us much to go on as far as identifying a hiding roled townie to avoid lynching versus a hiding Kenshiro to target, but no biggie.

Furthermore, while he could have been lying we have to assume Korabas was telling the truth about his abilities. In particular his first claimed ability where if he is NK'd it reveals who killed him sounds to me like we have either multiple scum (possibly an inheritor?) or some other kind of defense for Kenshiro (perhaps a 1x Jump like Amon from the Bender game?), or else it seems a bit too easy of a town win if we happened to get lucky with Korabas' ability, can lynch the revealed Kenshiro and win just like that. So I'd guess we're at DDay+2 right now.


Other people-wise, Shadow still looks almost too scummy, while Tiam still pings my scumdar with his manner of always talking like he is pushing a vote but not always following through/responding to rebuttals of his accusations (albeit this was more of a thing days 1 and 2, not as bad day 3). I'd be happy to vote for either of them. On the other hand, a voice in the back of my head whispers "smoooooth" every time I think of Bek, Lock or Okral right now. Lastly, Amp and Rikkter continue to be low in both posts and content.

So there's lots to look at and I hope we can all get right back into the spirit of things after the long weekend break ends. I'm planning to do a full read-up tomorrow night and see what comes out of the woodwork for me. For now, good night!

I of course like Denul as scum. But really it could be anyone of those. Of course now that we have two lists. I think that we will lynch off of one and scum will most likely kill off of the other. At least that is what I would if I was scum.

The way he's planning several days in advance rubs me the wrong way. Planning out the specifics of which players he expects to be lynched and NKed is not something that townspeople do. They are (or at least should) constantly looking for evidence to help find the scum and shouldn't be confined by lists like this. Scum, on the other hand, are always trying to figure out how they can get to their goal of killing off enough town to claim victory. There comes a point in most games I've spectated where you'll see the scum post something to SH saying "OK, now I should kill X, get Players Y and Z to follow me in a lynch of Q tomorrow, and then NK P the next night". It's natural to do. I feel like this has spilled out onto the thread a bit here from Shadow.

So overall I feel like Shadow has been making moves that indicate he's trying to keep the thread blinkered. He wants to keep the town on rails and does his best to nudge them in the directions he wants. Unfortunately for him, he hasn't been subtle enough about it.

I cut out a bunch of the above quote cause the make the whole thing to long. If I was scum I wouldn't have bothered to put the list on the thread. You are actiing like the list is some kind of master planning thing. When it is something that any idiot who can look at the thread and see who posted and who didn't could make. How exactly am I keeping the thread blinkered with my 40+ posts? Using the people who were posting at the time of a reveal to narrow a suspect list to try and find scum is a time honored mafia tradition. Now does it mean that I am completely blind to the fact that scum could have been posting during that period and purposefully not targeted Korbas. Whoops Korabas. Is there a Korbas alt in this game... No oh well then I guess that doesn't matter. I had a very energetic conversation with Tiam over that fact. Not the Korbas names but the odds and the reasons for scum not killing Korabas on his first reveal. But you just ignored all of that. But that is ok. I forgive you. I am in a forgiving state this morning. Yesterday was beautiful here in RL.

Also, you still haven't adequately explained your objection to Shadow's list, apart from repeatedly calling it WIFOM. Which to a certain extent it is, but I would argue less WIFOM than the WIFOM you used to back up your hard-on for Denul. All you have said about it is "I wouldn't have NKed Korabas" which is pure speculation, because we have no way to prove that, and is also stupid. A simple cost-benefit analysis will show you that.
