Weird, I wonder why it would save those after I'm done with them. It might have been a bug in an older version - inkscape does get updated pretty regularly and I first made the file over a year ago.
Also could be inkscape has the "unlock" setting for those mask layers someplace funny and hidden. I don't always find it's set up intuitively.
I found the unlock/unhide. Doesnt' work. I tried using find with include hidden/locked objects. Nada. Inkscape simply refuses to admit they exist. I'm trying a work around. I'm saving each layer in its own file. Open in AI, delete the masks, save. Seems to be working but slow. AI has to freak out over multiple objects for each file. It takes about 20 minutes of clicking "ok", "ignore", and "continue" before it finally opens. The deleting is simple. Then I have to save as and go through another set of complaints about incompatibilities.
I have a vague reminiscence of saying something about how easy this would be. Depressing amount of time spent on it. But now I'm determined to finish it. The TableTop Simulator game could make this all worth while*. They raised the maximum table size to 4400x2600. If that sounds familiar it's because that's the same dimensions of my Low Res full board. They have zoom, pan, and scan capabilities so it's looking like i can get it running on steam in a playable form. *crosses fingers, toes, ear lobes, legs, arms, and eyes*
*assuming that there isn't a copyright infringement at the end of this
Edit: I've passed the one month mark so can give away the extra versions of TTS that I bought. I sent one to Morgy. Any takers for the other two?
