Yeah, that's the iOS version of the game - the layout they have on it is a dream.

Looking more closely:
- change the Advanced Materials icon to brown so it's consistent with the board.
- Consider putting a little black star on the advanced material, econ and labs icons. They just kinda look like orbitals right now.
Will do. Yeah, some of that stuff works in the iOS game because they can be lit up or darkened instantly. Not so easy to do by hand.

There are some problems with that. But many of those are because I'm trying to do an overlay like the hexes.
I think it would be easier and better if I just made new playerboards in the iOS style.
- I'll keep the influence tracks pretty much as they are. Have to do so to make the influence discs work.
- Same for resource tracks -> cubes.

Not great. Before we got too far the matter of relocation came up and with my wife just starting a new job herself we decided it was too far North for both her and I to commute an hour in either direction. I had to withdraw from consideration for the position. But I was approached with another relocation dilemma recently that we are actually considering where she would keep her current commute and I would have the hour drive for a position that would be good experience for me. I'm waiting for my contact to get into the office and we'll see where it goes from there.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

So are we waiting on Khell right now in this game? This seems to have been stalled a bit.

Good luck. I grew up in Colorado. Small town. It was a 45 minute drive to Boulder or Denver. You can get used to the long drives.
Especially when the alternative is the unemployment line.
In the meantime have you considered doing some continuing education? Distance education / online courses have exploded of course. BYU has an outstanding program. And quite inexpensive iirc.

Yeah, it has. Khell is traveling. Tapper is ??.
And I haven't seen CF lately either.

Heading off beyond the great firewall tomorrow, not sure what the attitude of the great firewall is to malazan but I may or may not be cut off. I should still be able to email, so if I disappear drop me an email and I'll try and send a move in. I'm imperial historian (at) gmail.com

Have fun. And be good. That's not a good place to be caught being bad.

@twelve - I commute an hour each way to work. It is no hardship, nor particularly uncommon. The quality of the job is much more important than some extra traveltime

Concur on the travel time.
If it is transit, you get the bonus of being able to read the whole time! That is how I found the time to read the first 6 Malazan books!
If you are driving and are not already a podcast / talk radio listener, then become one. I can drive dawn to dusk if I have an engaging discussion to keep me company.
Oh, and for the mornings, consider dropping cash on a Sirius satelite radio subscription. Nothing surpasses Howard Stern for a morning commute - that show is endlessly entertaining.

Good tips CF. If I had more than a 10 minute drive to work I would take them.
