I have double drives on my dread. I move my dread into the hex where IH is, the one with the hive. It takes two moves and they are both reactions.



Yes you have two drives but the total movement of the two drives are three moves. You have to move 4 hexes to get to the hive hex. Thus two reacations.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Okay, got it. The problem was that you said on your turn 5 that you'd be moving into the hive, which was only the first move. Should've said Nu Phoenicis, and then say into the hive for the turn 6 move (not yet posted).

Well

Turn 4 Reaction I upgrade so that my dread has 2 fusion drives. ie removing a hull so that I have the source and replacing my current drive with fusion drive. My dread can now move 4 spaces.

Turn 5 I move into Hive hex.

If not then

Turn 4 Move dread to Nu Phoenicis

Turn 5 Move dread to Hive hex.

Tapper was online, but did not seem to post his Turn 3 action. Presumably it will be to build interceptors, probably in Pollux, but he did not confirm this.

Then in Turn 4 we have Tapper again, and Morgoth, that we are waiting on actions for, plus CF presumably building an orbital.

Ah, ok, that works then. I wasn't looking at actions that far back and the front page map doesn't have the first fusion dirve upgrade yet, I guess.

Who was it who was saying they didn't think our bunch of interceptors had much chance against the GCDS?

Obviously there's always the possibility that probability will be really skewed and we roll 0 6s in 100 rolls or whatever, but I did a way better simulator setup with our 8 interceptors (setup as different ship types for each of me, Khell and Tapper) and ran it a few thousand times - 98% success or so.

I'm feeling pretty good :unworthy:

Hey IH, with me moving into the hex first does that mean the ancients target me first? Would that not have been better you being targetted first with having the most HP? I don't mind like.

No if you move in first they target you last, hence why I passed so you'd move in after me.

If they get three hits in one set of rolls they will target you as they can kill your ship, but anything less and they target me. Chances are we'll kill one ancient in our first firing round, so I doubt they will get three hits.

Hmmmm seems to me that I told you all that you should worry about the other guys taking the GC this turn and ignore that hive hex. But what do I know. I've only won the last two games. :unworthy:

You can still stop them IH. Move that Big bad Dread of yours to the GC. Wipe out three or four of those pesky interceptors and then retreat. You hurt the other alliance. The GC is still up for grabs and you gain some nice reputation tiles in the process.

This was initially my plan... then I realised I'd very cleverly blocked myself off from the GC. So my surprise last minute reaction sending my dreadnought amongst them to wreak havoc is not to be :unworthy:
