@Gnaw,

Yeah, I have no clue what those three extra VPs are for. You can delete them from the scorecard. Twelve should be the only one with extra bonus points for having killed the GC dread.

And I see where you dropped my extra interceptor. It's on top of SS's playerboard. I should have 2 sitting in 55 Cancri, 2 in Gamma Valorum, and 4 in my warehouse.

Oh, shit, sorry. Forgot you put in a provisional.

RESEARCH artifact key for 12 science. 5 science in bank + 9 money => 6 science + 3 materials => 1 science.

+ 20 materials please (2x homeworlds, ancient orbital, zeta draconis)

NOTE: I dont' think Artifact Link got added to the game for some reason. I was trying to find it on somebody's board, but couldn't. It should be one of the rare techs, no? Not suggesting we add it in at this point, just making the note so that Gnaw knows to put it in the next game.....or am I totally wrong and artifact link is really a discovery tile?

The artifact link is a development and it is on the board along with the shellworld and ancient monument.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

The list posted on page 2 by D'rek shows no extra artifact keys. I've got an image file with the expansion tech but can't find it at the moment. Will look again shortly.

Ha, I thought myself rather clever for figuring that I could afford it, *conveniently* relinquishing a system to Khell (we did not plan this on the side, no worries). This was the plan since about mid-way through last round. I also thought there were 4 artifact keys and was very glad the rotation didn't go the other way upon realizing there were only 3!


I don't know what to do beyond this. I planned this perfect economic storm to net me a fucktonne of materials, but now I have no clue what to do with em!

And @Khell

For helping me out last round, you gain diplomatic immunity from my final round rampage, or maybe we can find a way for me to return the favour that will dovetail nicely with my own plans....once I make plans that is!

I thought about the shellworld, but that basically makes me a huge target and I don't have the ships to defend it. If things had gone better against SS, I might be singing a different tune, but not now. Probably best to sink it into ships and starbases hey?

Back in round 6 when I discovered the missing two rare techs, I thoroughly went through the tech numbers. More than once.

There are only 3 artifact keys.

Yes, if it were still upkeep phase of round 8 and we collectively decided to add in a tech we missed, then that would be ok. Now that the final round is started, I would not add any different techs.

EDIT

I realize this doesn't make much sense after all.

I kinda wish I'd realized that. I could easily have picked up the artifact link instead...but then I don't think I'd have the ships to seriously vie for more artifacts, or defend the ones I already have.

Prolly artifact key was the best choice in the end. I'll just need to chase a few high value targets to make up the difference between that and the link.

:rofl: Actually, the point I was making was that if I'm sure of anything in this game it is the number of tech tiles.

The final version of the Round 9 start board will be up shortly. Fixed SS graveyard, SS VP count (lost 1 due to losing the WP hex), CF's missing interceptor.

I was hoping you would grab the link too to keep it out of D'rek's hands but upon looking at your point total it looks like you might be in striking distance of me as well so maybe it is a good thing you didn't get it.
