I am thinking the missiles/interceptors because he'd have to either concentrate fire from his missiles on my interceptors or ignore them and hope not many hit.

D'rek what does the Phase shield do?
ie does it block missiles or cannons or both, or just computers on the ships>?

Phase shield is just minus 2 applied against whatever advantage your computers provide. If you had +2 positron computer and he had -2 phase shield, they cancel, and you have to roll 6's just as if you never had a computer at all.
So in the above scenario, he has sufficient shields to counter your computers. If initiative is not a consideration (ie he can out-initiative you no matter what), then you're better off swapping your computers out for hulls or firepower. If initiative *is* a consideration, then you might get a better advantage swapping firepower for more computers.
EDIT
And yes, it blocks both missiles and cannons.
The only exception (I think) is the rare technology distortion shields I purchased back in round 4. They confer -2 against missiles for all my ships without needing to place a ship part, but no protection vs. cannons.

Which one is phase shields? Any of the black [-#] symbols reduces enemy computers (whether the computers are boosting missiles or cannons or space-pie-throwers). The only one that is different is the Distortion Shield rare tech that only affects missiles (and hence the [-2] square has a missile shape around it).

He is going to have initiative no matter what. I am thinking of countering his +3 computer with phase shields over one of my improved hull. As it stands he will need two hits to hit my dread and take it out, if I do the above he will still need two hits but will only hit on a 5 or a 6. Yet I will hit on anything above a 1. Big difference. Even with a shield, I would hit with 4+.

Hey, you know when you get that sudden feeling that you may have been a tad overambitious in your evil schemes?
I'm having that feeling right now. But like any terrible leader, I will bulldoze stubbornly on with my plans despite the growing outraged calls of the citizen body. I am leader, I know best.

Do you still want me to get out of your way from Psi Capricorni?

@D'rek - rereading the last few pages, I hope I didn't give the impression that I was taking this personally. I'm not. It's been surprisingly relaxing trying to plot ridiculous schemes, the last which you ruined with that latest build
Read up on Twelve and his gloating. If I can free D'rek by taking out your dread then that is a good thing for the game. I cannot win and will not win this game yet I can help someone else try to win, against Twelve who has been gloating all game AND lost his dread against the GCs first time round but got a mulligan
I have a hard time understanding how you want to give the game to the person actively removing you from it. It seems pretty retarded. You have lots of materials, but instead of trying for something you just fold so that you can say you weren't trying anyways. It's a strange approach, though much like what SS did. An approach you were quite disapproving of at the time.
Thankfully I have plenty of reactions left.
I know. He currently is in second place and has the chance to challenge me but is gift wrapping points for D'rek instead. I still think it won't be enough to surpass me but we'll see..
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

In an ideal world, yes. But I don't think I can do it any longer, so you don't have to. Stupid lack of influence discs.
NOTE THAT I HAVE ADDED TO MY ORIGINAL ORDER FOR THIS MOVE.

Only Rho Indi, I think. I needed the extra money slot it provides. I'd love to relieve you of all your possessions, but I just don't have the influence discs for it! (And, unfortunately, all of my hexes contain money planets, so I can't even get rid of any).

Not exactly according to my master plan (I keep telling myself I *have* a master plan), but that's fine. I will offer no resistance.
