Khell,
I'm not complaining. I get to go slightly ealier than if you went counterclockwise. I'm sure you have a plan in mind. Best of luck to you.

And khell passes, so it's back to GNAW.
Right now we have Gnaw, D'rek, Tapper, and Me that have not passed.
Tapper put in a provisional turn 6 pass

I don't think they can exchange diplo until the ancients are moved CF.

yes, you're right GP
I didn't look, just did the move as shown in Morgoth's page 1 post.
So they will have to wait until next game round to do diplo yes?

They can do it before upkeep. That is what I'm planning on doing with Tapper when I clear out the ancients.

Oh, I didn't realize you could squeeze it in after combat.
@Khell,
Diplo when I beat the piss out of these ancients then Khell? Might as well get the production boost right away.

How about you D'rek? If you clear the ancients would you like to exchange diplo?

You need to wait until we actually have adjacent influence discs before we can have the diplo. We are just planning it right now.

If you want to go attack Gnaw instead, I think I'd be up for diplomacy so I can get an explore or maybe even two in.

I wasn't going to attack you regardless. I was thinking of defensive measures against you.

@ALL
I have been having a grand time with this eclipse combat simulator, and figured I should confer the advantage along to all that haven't used it yet.
http://bigpearstudios.com/eclipse/
It's different than the one I used last game. Rather than just giving % chance to hit, it runs a monte-carlo simulation of X battles (where x is any number), given a specified loadout on the attacking and defending ships. It really helps understand the advantages and disadvantages of the various upgrades. I would have done my upgrades totally differently had I not used this tool.
If you run a bunch (like 10,000), based on wins and losses you can get a really good estimate of your percent chances.
The only thing it doesn't really work for is point defense, but all other upgrades and components in the core game and expansion are present.
If you click "detailed output" it actually lays out the combat round so can get a feel for wins/losses of your ships too.

I don't have chrome and I can't download it on my work computer so I can't use it.

What were you planning on doing with your upgrades instead of what the simulator suggested?

Khell does have the option to do a reaction. Shrug.

Boo!
You'll have to give it a try at home then. It's nothing earth-shattering in terms of advantage, but for example, I put hull + plasma cannon on my cruiser instead of computer + plasma cannon or rearranging for double plasma cannons. The choice I made gives me a 94% win chance and a better chance of keeping my cruiser (since it's targeted first), whereas the second choice gives me 92% chance of winning and a higher chance of losing the cruiser.
But the advantage of that hull isn't universal. Putting hull on my interceptors as well (instead of computer) drops my total win chance to 87% because the interceptors are less likely to be lost anyway (seeing as how they're targeted second).

Keep the tile. Orientation irrelevant. Do not influence.

Wait! Doesn't the ancients have to target the largest ship it can destroy first. If it can't destroy the cruiser with a hit it will then target the interceptor to destroy it right? Or am I misunderstanding how ancient battle resolution works?
