@twelve I think it is harsh that a colonisation (which took place after everyone else made their moves, if I'm not mistaken) can't be undone by a first time player, its a clear mistake which wouldn't have been made by anyone who fully understood the rules. Its the sort of mistake someone would have spotted and warned a new player about in table play. Later in the game yes it makes sense to strictly stick to the rules, but on the first turn I think a little leeway is called for. Does everyone else not agree?

I was looking at his player board that showed that he had no colony ships available. I should have realized that he used his last colony ship on his last explore action. I have no issue at all letting him take that last settlement back so he can better afford his upkeep. Either way I think this was a great learning experience for him and possibly Gnaw on the mechanics of upkeep. Just think of this as a lesson in personal finances. What you have in the bank plus what you earn need to be greater than what is due else you have to "sell" stuff off. If you run out of stuff to sell, Game Over.

My first game that I took over for Mentalist I did the same thing that you did last game. Though if I could have beat IH's shard hull cruiser with my dreadnaught and then the ancient I could have survived another round which I thought I had a decent chance to do. But alas I sufferred the same fate as you. If you know you are snookered might as well go all out to try and snooker the snookeree right?

I think you'd probably have a starting advantage if we go to war. But as I extrapolated, the only winner if we war is likely D'rek .

The machines were somehow able to send a subtle warning my way prediciting my defeat should I move my fleet against them. I am just terribly frightened of engaging her in combat, last game saw it bankrupt me, she was by far the cleverer player. I took her down, but it was suicide.

Although the tongue thing, D'rek? Are you a willing participant in that scenario

Given that we are not even finished round 1, I have some serious reservations about where inter-player relations are headed in this game...

I didn't mean to diss something you created and I see the utility doesn't leave much for pose changes. I just thought the pose looked very kitty like with the one paw upraised.

No, we're assuming SS will follow advice RE upkeep but he hasn't decided for sure what to do with his ship blueprints.

Seems to me his idea of the fusion source upgrade wasn't very good, but maybe we can take him at his last order and allow modification after the fact once he has a chance to sort everything out? I don't think it's going to make a bit of difference to everyone else's end-of-round strategy what he does with his upgrade actions.

I haven't made my last action yet, Twelve has made a provisional move. Just lemme have 1 last look and I'll do an update (even though it will be missing SS's upgrade components).
