Ah I see.
I don't think the ship upgrades really matters. He can put fusion sources on now and not need to worry about energy later, or do something else now and add fusion sources later, or w/e. With multiple rounds of free pulsar moves before he likely attacks anyone, he's got lots of time to do many free upgrades.

ok, so moves back around to the end of the round.
SS move 5 - free upgrade
Twelve move 5 - researches the science development
CF move 5 - researches advanced robotics
SS move 6 - free upgrade
Twelve move 6 - researches quantum grid
CF move 6 explore SE of home system
My explore yields: Lambda Tauri
lam tauri - cf.png (45.63K)
Number of downloads: 0
which I will keep but not influence. Orientation as shown.
I will post my upkeep on page 1.
Are we waiting on anybody else's upkeep before I draw techs and draw for the hive/supernova

The only issue I see with my board is that you forgot to add the two influence disks that I purchased but I know that my upkeep is -13 not -21. Would have been scary otherwise.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Hive question:
If a 1 and/or 2 gets rolled do the ships just stay in that hex from then on?

Just want to finalise before I continue. So I understand.
So I do what's suggested and only influence Sineis and don't populate, that means I can still use the upgrade action then de-influence at the end. That would leave my action deficit at -7. With my given 2 and the 4 I'll recieve at the end of the round, that leaves me at -1.
My surplus colony card will take care of that -1.
That leaves me on zero and still in possession of one pulsar system.
Yup?
So if I decided, like someone suggested earlier, to rid myself of the grey planet so I can populate it with money in the next round, could I do that?
Meaning I should really, not influence Sineis at all, then at the end of my turn, de-influence the system with the grey planet in. Get me? That would mean I'd only have one upgrade, but I wouldn't lose any money.
Does that make sense?
And more importantly, can I do it?
I so understand the answer you guys are giving me and I appreciate the chance to 're-do my last turn, but I really wish I'd put a fucking money cube on that grey planet!!!
Doh!!

So I do what's suggested and only influence Sineis and don't populate, that means I can still use the upgrade action then de-influence (Using the influence action is different than going bankrupt. In this senario you would have to bankrupt a hex, either one of the pulsar hexes or the hex with the grey planet. I would recommend doing the grey planet hex so you can use the influence action next round to populate the grey planet with money) at the end. That would leave my action deficit at -7. With my given 2 and the 4 I'll recieve at the end of the round, that leaves me at -1.
My surplus colony card will take care of that -1. Yes this is correct
That leaves me on zero and still in possession of one pulsar system. Or if you choose both pulsar hexes but not the hex with the grey planet
Yup?
So if I decided, like someone suggested earlier, to rid myself of the grey planet so I can populate it with money in the next round, could I do that? Yup like I mentioned above
Meaning I should really, not influence Sineis at all, then at the end of my turn, de-influence the system with the grey planet in. Get me? That would mean I'd only have one upgrade, but I wouldn't lose any money. This is not right because if you don't influence Sineis at all after you explored, when you use the influence action next round you would take a disk off the grey planet hex but then you would then put it back on leaving you unable to influence the pulsar hex at all without spending another influence action. Does that make sense?
And more importantly, can I do it? This part isn't clear as to what you are referring to.

So to sum up what I think you should do with the do over.
Influence Sineis do not populate the planet
Do your pulsar moves if you haven't already. You get two
Pass so you can do your upkeep
Bankrupt the hex with the grey planet returning the influence disk back to your player board and return the population cube back to the science track
----This is so next round you can use an influence action to populate it with money as it sounds like what you really wanted to do
Flip one colony ship over for money so your ending money is zero.
This game takes a little getting used to so don't sweat it if you are struggling with the upkeep process. We want to make sure you understand so you can fully apprciate the game.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

And I do get it really. It's the little things...
Anyhow, I've updated. Hopefully one of you guys will check it over and see if its ok.
Thanks again and sorry for holding you up.

Hi guys,
No time for idle chat. I literally have 2 minutes before my buds show up and I start getting too drunk to see.
I'm going to post the new techs now since it doesn't really matter with everyone essentially done their upkeep.
If it's technically out of order, then sorry, we'll get it right next time. At least we all have the same advantage and if anybody wants to mulligan their upkeep (since SS has that slight advantage over everyone) then I figure that's better than everyone having to wait ALL weekend to find out the round 2 tech.
@Khell
Supernova doesn't explode. I rolled a 4 and a 5
@Hive
Rolls a 2 - no explored hex on that side. Hive cannot move out a ship.
@Twelve
I will fix your disc count on my next update
@All
If you see anything wrong with your board or the game in general, make a note in your 1st page post. I'll update things when I return monday afternoon.
Until then, BEHOLD:

Well, the good news for you Khell is that if you want to explore there's that nice little pocket spot made by CF's explorations that you can safely explore to without connecting, but which would be a great spot if you end up getting the other ancient hive or if you plan to get wormhole generators later!
