Has someone got each post saved from the first page? I keep thinking I may screw up and lose the post and wonder if we will have a recovery? I am super careful but I am thinking it could be anyone at any time.

I am going to either explore south east from PSI capricorni or south west from homeworld depending on Gnaw's tile. If Gnaw draws a tile without an ancienct I may try to connect to him for diplo relations.

I will also post a post with all actions up to date.

I still want diplo with you GP. If I had known that the ancient ship was going to keep us out of the one connecting hex, I'd have oriented the one to my west towards you. *shrug*

As for backup you can use the notes in your profile? That's where I'm going to keep mine.

@Gnaw, your second disco is an ancient cruiser, which I think just means you get a free cruiser with the same blueprint as your own.....or does it mean you get a blueprint the same as the normal ancient cruiser? I can't recall. You can keep it or keep the VPs.

Oooooohhh. Free Cruise! Where to? Wait a second, it's not Carnival is it?

Seriously though: Huh? I missed something it seems.

If you decide to take the Ancient Cruiser, you get a free Cruiser ship placed in the hex where the discovery tile is.

"If"? I'd have to be fairly dense to not take it correct?
I'm just a bit confused as to where it is. (I think I shall call her the Astraea Imprimatur.)

Several questions.

Quote

Round 1

Action Summary
[on phone. Notes at home. Don't remember what pops I was going to use. But am exploring due south. Can fill in when get home. 2 hours max]
  • Explore south. Settle the space. (It's empty, so "settle" just means an influence card right?). And orient as is: N,S, NW. Keep muon source.
  • Accept diplomatic relationshp with GP. Explore SE SW from home system.
  • 1 click counter clock to NW,NE, SE. Influence and colonize.

Round 1 upkeep

[upkeep summary goes here]

Where I've got listed the turn 3 is really the last part of turn 2 correct?
So my turn 3 is the provisional I put in last night about exploring NE of my home system?

Provisional: explore NE from home sector.

And that's where the ship is? If so, what hex did I draw? That is what I meant by "missing something".

No, I wasn't going to go that way anyway, but he is uncomfortably close to me. I'm happy with those two ancient ships separating us for the moment :p

Okay I'm back and will look into how I want to orient my hex. Though I'm leaning towards not having such a close connection with both the pirates and the mechanized thingamabobs.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Cool, everyone look at orientations and post your moves up to the end of this round of actions. i'm not even processing anything past that (ie up to the end of my action) so I can make sure I'm caught up on all the little things I might have missed.

Hope that's cool, it would suck to get a few actions down the road and realize I copy pasted something I shouldn't have. I think once we're done with the hex-draw-craziness it will be a little calmer for me but for now it is a bit overwhelming trying to keep up.

I'm also going to start keeping a running record of the board updates for myself. At least the jpgs. That way we can go back and look at previous board states if there's a major dispute.

@ Twelve,

remember, just because I *can* break diplomacy with no penalty doesn't mean I will. Keeping it still gives me a VP and a pop cube, and having an aggressive neighbour is not necessarily to my advantage either given the reduced number of ships I can field.

My diplo is still extended to you anyway.

I know and I am going to accept your diplomacy offer. I just want to get all of my explores in this round and find out what planets I uncover before I actually make it formal.

I think I've decided on how I want to orient my hex. As much as I would love to accept Tappers offer of diplomacy I just can't leave such and easy route to my homeworld plus to connect to create a diplomatic arrangement that means I have to point to the Tier I hex that Tapper is also pointed too doesn't make much sense. I can cross my fingers and hope we both can connect at the Tier I level but that is probably another round down the road. So for now

Rotate Hex Zeta Reculi once clockwise where wormholes are facing NE, SE, SW
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

First page is updated. I just need to know what my discovery tile is before I can complete my second action.

Believe it or not, but I am more happy with this move for the exaxt same reasons you made it, than if you had connected to me straight away. I was quite nervous about letting a blitz race get so close.

Yeah if I had to choose to Explore a Tier I tile without having to fight anyone for it or Have you explore it, possibly influence it then have to fight you over it, it turned out to be a no brainer in my opinion.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

@D'rek

I meant the first two rounds of actions, but yeah honestly surprised more people aren't going for the centre, will be interesting to see whether those who get drawn into the build of forces round the centre come out ahead or not.

It will be one of your 4 cruisers (your normal blueprints) and you will place it in the tile where you just uncovered the discovery tile, ie the last hex you explored.

You have to choose between 2 victory points and the cruiser. Generally 2 victory points is worth more than a cruiser, however in the early stages of the game, an extra cruiser can make the difference between being able to take on an ancient and not being able to, making it possibly worth more vp in the longrun. It's a decision you have to make, whether you value the cruiser now and potentially no vp gains, or a definite 2 vp down the road.

Thank you sir. I think cruiser now. Taking VPs would indicate assumption of survival; I'm not confident of that at all.

CF, I've updated my first page to include the placing of Geminga, the pulsar system.
I've requested another hex too...

OK, updates underway.

@SS - I had to turn the hex so that you have wh connection to your territories. 1 tick CCW. THis leaves you max connectivity to unexplored hexes. If this is ok, just confirm.

@Tapper - you find the AXION COMPUTER - (lucky). +3 computer, zero power drain. Do you want to keep it? If so do you want to sit on it or apply it to a blueprint immediately?

@Twelve - you find the ANCIENT ORBITAL - which is a free orbital for the hex in question. Do you want to keep it or keep the VP? I also haven't had any colonization orders issued by you yet, though I understand you're holding off on purpose. Just don't forget!

@Me - in light of Twelve and Tapper's moves, I have no changes to my plans. Keep the hex orientation as N, NW, S, SE.

I am going to start with the next couple of moves now if that's alright with everybody. I'll try to get around to Morgoth/d'rek at least. Anybody have any changes to their provisionals in light of recent developments?
