Khell is just confused because he was Lyra last game. The one and only time that the notion of "planets" rather than population slots is relevant is for the Lyra shrines.

Also this. I never worried about colony ships last game. Stupid colony ships. I want my shrines back. Didn't take no colony ships for shrines.

You had a very extensive empire before I swooped in and cut you back to size. You used the colony ships many times. It must have been because you went from the enlightened to more progress oriented you are trying to fit in what would be more effience for progress than your previous enlightened self would have understood. That is why you are now better suited to my dinner table. Just hand over all your territories and you can forget this misguided pursuit of knowledge.

I want to get in on all this roleplaying stuff, too, but I'm not sure what to do. Maybe I can base Orion on the Tarth - ravenous stupid monkey-dog people?

Us Orion smart! Can think pretty good, too!

Well last game was more like this:

Khell: "I'm going to do this move! Weeee!!"

D'rek: "You can't do that move. You're going to do this move instead."

Khell: "Okay."

You do know that the Hydrani aren't actually lobsters, right? We just look a bit like them. We actually taste awful, and you'd be poisoning yourself. Not to mention that I've already told you that eating our eggs helps us colonise, so really, go right ahead! We will insidiously worm our way into your system (both gastrically and galactically speaking).

I think I may have a problem. I want to know my next hex so bad I actually looked up all the possibilities. Am I addicted? :p

Incidentally, I'm in the terrible dilemma of not knowing whether I would rather get Capella so it can block Tapper/SS completely or Aldebaran/Beta Leonis so I can gets moneys!

Size about 3.5Mb. If anybody has issues with the file size I can try to reduce it further.

Would it be possible to make that update 2 files instead of one? 1 for the map and the other for player cards etc? The size it is now, when I zoom in on something the text blurs too much for me.

^ This

And also, possibly the supply board for this round, so i can read it?

I'm still waiting for my new hex to be revealed eh? South of my home system?

Why not Caster or Zeta Hurculis? Your improved hull cruisers next round would wipe the floor with that ancient and they both have money!!! Of course you wouldn't be able to settle the hexes until next round and it sounds like you want money sooner rather than later.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Yeah, I don't think I can afford to MOV, UPG and influence the hex after.

Well I know I'm addicted as I can't stop looking at all the various hexes available and trying to figure out my next moves based on what I might get. I'm hoping to get Mu Cassiopie again even though it does have an ancient. Might try and do something crazy like upgrading my interceptor and attacking it this round. Though probably not a good idea with only one interceptor.

I'd say it's risky but not totally crazy. Plasma cannon and gauss shield makes it so the first roll of a 6 wins, and you do have the higher initiative. I think your odds would be better with a positron computer instead of the shield, though.

My thought was plasma cannon and an electron computer but odds are that I would not get a 5 or 6 in round one and the ancient probably would. If I had two interceptors I would probably be very tempted to try it and gamble. If I win that would set me up great to make a go at the center by round three or two maybe even. But like I said all this talk is just speculation as I may end up with Albedaran, Capella or Beta Leonis and won't have to fight anything.

Actually, given the ancient dreadnaught's stats, you're probably the best-equipped to take it on early without a giant fleet. Gauss shields help a lot to reduce its damage and having plasma cannons would really help in overcoming its health regeneration.

Unfortunately, the loss of quality is due to the source files. Making it into bigger files wouldn't be much help I'm afraid, since the original isn't legible at high zoom either. Even if I save it as a top-quality jpg. The PDF solved the issues with quality loss since it can handle scalable elements like text, but the file is way too big to distribute in PDF format now.

Looks like d'rek has been working on a simplified map. D'rek if you don't mind upkeeping that map, it would be awesome. Last game I used that in conjunction with the real map to help remind me where things are since none of the hexes were legible last game.

I can try pasting text over the existing map (white bold letters) that would hopefully show up a bit better. I just worry it will clutter things too badly.

Now that you are back.....

Mind helping us addicts out a wee bit. Give us something new to chew on maybe?

If you can that is.

Hmm. Ok. The map as is is easy enough to follow. I can't read any of the other stuff though. Dev tiles, player card, etc. Those of you familiar with the game can go by the pictures but I want/need better resolution on that stuff. Oh well. Thanks anyways.

@Gnaw,

For reference you could look in the Eclipse II game thread. The player boards are listed there for all the races and I think D'rek put in a supply board. You might want to take a look there to see if that will give you what you need.

I'm none too bright. It turns out that if I look at the update on an actual computer as opposed to the iPad I can read it.
