Ha, yeah, I was wondering if he'd take advantage of that vulnerability of D'rek's, though if Twelve takes Arcturus, I don't entirely see losing his entire fleet (minus 1 dread) being worth it. I was actually going to sneak my interceptor up there until I realized D'rek has the absorber tech.

Would have been more prudent to put both ships in Arcturus and ensure a win Tatts.

if i hit I destroy her planets. The way I see the battle with twelve he'd need to hit with all his guns first time, or he blows, unless he upgrades, but that will lessen his firepower. I have one more upgrade coming to counter his next move. I think I can beat him and weaken d'rek this go. Big risk, I was tempted to hit d'rek twice though.

You have an option you might want to consider. You're at -25.

Turn 8: Influence action. -30. Remove discs from Beta Centauri (306) and Pollux (102). -21. 1 money and 1 science returned to their tracks. You're going to lose 306 anyway. and pulling the disc from Pollux allows Khell to retreat his interceptor.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Whew, first I've sat down at a computer all day. Busy as hell!

Interesting Morgoth. What are you aiming to accomplish? Just building up some fleet for a late-round push? Staving off extinction?

A small attempt at deterence short term. We'll see what I can do with it later.

Over to SS then.

Man, I'm surprised there was zero banter over the weekend.

I spent the whole time outside and didn't use my computer once. Glorious.

I kept expecting Gust Hubb to be the next to post.
Welcome back CF.

I'm a tad busy at the mo, wonder if I can leave it a few hours before posting an action.

I need to see the board really and tbh we've waited all weekend already.
Will that slide?

The board is only a couple of turns old, and nothing done since the last update really affects you or what you might do.

In that case.
I'll use my last pulsar move.
Turn 7.
Sineis.
MOVES cruiser from Zeta Chamaeleontis to hex 311. using 'free' Pulsar turn.

Should have 3 ships bordering GP now.

Crazy Tapper Mafia, but I'm still watching. I've PM'd Path-Shaper letting Tapper know it's his go though. I've narrowed down my next move. I just wish Tatts was tapped out on moves and then I would feel a lot better about my chances.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Ah well. There can't be much left to do in this round anyway. I think we're nearly done aren't we?

Did you consider this?

-remove one flux missile part over the default hull from Dreadnaught
-Remove plasma cannons from Dreadnaught
-Add Antimatter cannon over ion cannon on Dreadnaught
-Add Conifold Field over default hull

There's no way he can gain initiative to fire cannons before you without sacrificing enough hull that your missiles might do the job for you. I think.

edit: He could drop a computer and add a second drive. Doing that along with swapping an ImpHull for a plasma missile. He'd get to shoot first with both.

oh. or.

He could roll with his current configuration.

This turn:
  • Move - Interceptor from Altair to Aldebaran.
  • Move - Dread from D'rek's world to the GCD.

Next turn:
  • Move: Dread from Aldebaran to GCD.

His 5 initiative to your 4. 2 shots x4 damage against 3 armor VS. your 4 shots x2 damage against 8 armor.

He's going to lose Altair and Vega anyways. So take the 5/6 odds of gaining D'rek's world against the slimmer odds of the GCD?

Tatts, just how big are your balls?

Edit: Oops. looked at the wrong influence track. Never mind then.

Ok, I'll wait a bit to make sure d'rek, SS and Tapper all still pass, and then call the round over.

Anybody in combat please issue your orders so I can resolve the fights this evening.
