Carey's Felix Castor series is not Dresden. It's got a smaller scope and Castor isn't as appealing a character.

The series thus far has stayed fairly central upon four or five characters and added in murder/ghost stories for everyone to solve.

It's good for what it is. I'd warmly recommend it, although not to the point of shoving the books at other people like I do with Dresden.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Hello forum. This will be my first post. I just finished Skin Game earlier. Lucked out coz my local bookstore released it early by several weeks.

It was good but not a top 5 Dresden book. I'd give it maybe an 8 out of 10.

Some nice character developments, especially for Harry. Some minor characters from the earlier books are brought back. Liked how the Parasite storyline progressed and surprised of the direction it went. Fun book.

Yeah I received it early too. I thought it was epic, like every other Dresden book. I won't spoiler anything though but wow!
