Well it's an idiom related to con-artistry and other sorts of trickery, I believe, so when you deal with the supernatural, there's plenty of layers there to play with.

Yep the naagloshi is a skinwalker. Isn't there also a skins game in golf or whatever where people bet a certain amount on each contest? Also what's the estimated release date?
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

There used to be an event called the 'Skins Game' for Golf. I'm unaware of any particular type of golf thing called a 'skins game'.
I'm kind of expecting him to somehow make some of the Naagloshi help him in some way in return for their freedom.

It also provides with a convenient place for Harry to be pining for Murphy in another entirely atruistic display of gentlemanness and lamenting on how he acquired Slate's mentality and what an evil that is. But instead, at some point he'll remember that Molly now has Maeve's attitude seeping into her, and from there on, much sex on on sheepskins between the two of them, which is an entirely different game. On a skin. Only clad in their skin.
I mean, at some point Dresden Files and it's continuing sexualization of the main characters will arrive at the Anita Blake checkpoint of no return into the lands of two and a half score of shades between white and black and a vampire, right?
