Oath of Swords by David Weber - free

Katya's World by Jonathan L. Howard - $2.09

The Winds of Khalakovo by Bradley Beaulieu - $2.99

A Treasury of Edgar Rice Burroughs - $1.99

Nova War (Book 2 of Shoal Sequence) by Gary Gibson - $3.03

Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan - $1.99

I saw the entire 10 book set of MBotF for like $80 USD on there somewhere, but that's not really a deal, since they would be slightly less individually
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. I don't think it's even a deal anymore. It has been on sale at that price since November, non-stop, which is interesting. I'm thinking the publisher is trying to drum up a lot of interest for book two in March (I think- spring of this year definitely). But yeah, totally worth reading at that price.

The Winds of Khalakovo is a good read too. It has a very Russian feel to it, and some cool ideas. The other two books are in my TRP, and received good reviews too.

Some new Kindle finds:

Half Way Home by Hugh Howey - $3.99

(Wool is on my TRP and is allegedly pretty good, and this one sounded good as well.)

Isle of Woman (Geodyssey) Piers Anthony - $0.99

The Mongoliad by Greg Bear, Neal Stephenson, et al. - $3.99

Three (Legends of the Duskwalker) by Jay Posey - $1.99

(An Angry Robot book, so it ought to be halfway decent.)

STAR HOUNDS -- OMNIBUS by David Bischoff - $0.00

Name seems familiar, but I can't place him. I've probably read some of his short stories or something. Also, a badass-looking female cyborg...or something...on the cover. And oh yeah, FREE OMNIBUS.

A couple of interesting-looking anthologies:

The Time Travel Megapack - $0.99

Weird Science Fiction Tales - $1.99

These appear self-published...but free/cheap and/or badass looking:

The Sword and the Dragon (The Wardstone Trilogy Book One) by M. R. Mathias - $0.00

Crimes Against Magic (The Hellequin Chronicles, Book 1) by Steve McHugh - $3.99

Cheesily-awesome title, cover art with a guy waving around a whip made of light, or something. Heck yeah, I'm going to read it!

The Nameless Dwarf (The Complete Chronicles) by D.P. Prior - $2.99

A dwarf who wields a demonic axe. I mean, c'mon! If that doesn't peak your interest, you have no soul.

Dang, this Kindle is wreaking havoc on my TRP. But they're not taking up space, or damaging my bank account too badly, so I guess it's all good...

Revenge of the Elf is the best title I've ever seen.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Apparently Red Rising was supposed to be one of the better debuts on the radar for this year and has been getting some rave reviews. I haven't gotten to it in the TRP yet, but that might be one to look into grabbing at such a cheap price.

Cross-posting this in the comics thread as well...

HumbleBundle is doing a Transformers e-comics bundle for the next 5+ days. $15 gets you everything: 126 issues in 14 volumes. I paid $15 for the dead tree version of More Than Meets The Eye Volume 1, and it alone is worth every cent. Here's a helpful guide to what you can get:

Quote

  • From Marvel's G1 continuity:
    • The original 1984 comic: issues 1-2, 4-8, 10-50 (unfortunately, issues 3 and 9 are left out, presumably for various copyright issues that have plagued reprints in the past)
    • 2012 continuation "Regeneration One": issues 80.5, 81-85 (the original series ended with #80)

  • From IDW's ongoing continuity:
    • Spotlight issues for Shockwave, Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Sixshot, and Ultra Magnus
    • All Hail Megatron: issues 1-16 plus related Spotlights (Blurr, Jazz, Drift, Cliffjumper, and Metroplex)
    • 2010 ongoing: issues 1-6
    • Autocracy: issues 1-12
    • More Than Meets the Eye: issues 1-8 (plus "Death of Optimus Prime" one-shot)
    • Robots in Disguise: issues 1-9

  • Fall of Cybertron (game) prequel comic: issues 1-6
  • Prime (cartoon) tie-in comic "Rage of the Dinobots": issues 1-4

I highly recommend the whole package just to get the two volumes each of More Than Meets The Eye (which is phenomenal) and Robots In Disguise (which would probably be the best TF comic ever if MTMTE didn't exist.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
―Gene Wolfe, The Citadel of the Autarch

Is there some kind of program one can get that can read all ebook formats? For PC/tablet etc?

When I looked it up, apparently you can get it bundled with Mistborn in one volume. I already own both in paperback, but I'm glad to get them on my devices, so thanks for the tip

EDIT: Apparently the Sampler bundle does not contain complete books, so be warned.

Robin Hobbs assassin's apprentice is up for free on amazon.co.uk, and most of the first books in her series are available for £1. Definitely worth a look if you haven't read any Hobb yet.

Malice (a bit generic, but worth a read) is up for £0.69 and Prince of Thorns (excellent) for £1.99 as well if you haven't checked these out yet
