Weiss and Benioff are gone hahaha they ruined Game of Thrones for this.
This was coming the MOMENT that GOT S8 tanked and burned with most viewers. They were hired by Lucasfilm way back when they were still riding moderately high on GOT...and don't believe for a SECOND that they "walked"......
If you've read some of the Twitter coverage of their panels at various cons the last week or two it became pretty clear they were bent on not just burning their bridges but nuking them from orbit.
Even allowing for the ridiculous level of hyperbole by disgruntled GoT fans, their responses to even fairly mundane questions have been astoundingly ill thought out.
All that said, i'd bet decent cash they are secure in their Netflix deal and have zero to worry about. At the end of the day, even with the large/louder than usual interwubs screeching, GoT had enough eyeballs and love to ensure Netflix will be just fine with whatever they churn out.

Super Battle Droids and a Separatist HMP (Heavy Missile Platform) droid gunship spotted in the MANDALORIAN trailer.
Oh baby, prequel love. I loves it!
I think these are all flashbacks to the fabled Siege of Mandalore (which I think we will see in TCW S7 too)...which MIGHT...might tie into SOLO since this siege is the last time anyone sees Maul before his appearance in SOLO/his end in REBELS. I could see The MANDALORIAN doing some groundwork to make some of the SOLO stuff a little more legit in canon. Only time will tell.

I feel kinda sad that B&W are self-immolating so badly. I wish they had looked at the critiques (and I mean this long before S8) as an opportunity to become better artists rather than bigger edgelords.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I suspect the problem is the nature and content of the vast majority of the 'critique'.
Let's put it this way, 'constructive' is not the adjective i would use.

Before S7/S8 I'd say it largely was constructive, and they even seemed responsive, however imperfectly? But then we get Euron, who is every bad impulse they've ever had in one immensely mismanaged character, and a sign they were actually chaffing rather than learning -- I dunno, if you think that's uncharitable, fair enough. The negative response to S8, however well-deserved, was -- let's say intimidating -- to any creative team for sure. But every last bad decision seemed to be theirs to own, a result of their self-cloistering. (At the same way, I don't take away the credit they should have for the early seasons, even with rich source material -- they held their own for a while).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Disney keeps deleting social media posts with Hayden in them, even ones from their own wing branches (Hayden was at Galaxy'sEdge)...this tells me that Anakin is going to be in TROS.
Which I mean good. Anakin SHOULD be in TROS.

I believe QT is suggesting they're deleting evidence of him doing anything involved with Star Wars recently in order to try to keep it a surprise.
Bit dumb- Hayden Christensen meeting Ian McDairmid for lunch or going to Galaxy's Edge, on its own, is far less suspicious than Hayden Christensen doing those things and then all evidence of that disappearing.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Yes this. This is a method that over at Star Wars Leaks they've figure out means that Disney would rather NOT have the content out there, even if it was seen by a few hundred/thou people....then get too close to revealing spoilers en masse. Which I agree with PG makes no sense.
It's asinine, but it's what they do. Leaks that get taken down by copyright by Disney...become "confirmed". This is no different.

I'll be going on the 19th, got the day off.
I'm not hyped I admit, I'm loving the mando so much its taken a back seat.
I was kind of hopeful after Richard E Grants emotional response to the viewing; but I've been avoiding tv spots and trailers and will do so until I see it.
I'm not going to raise my expectations. If it's good, then ok. If it's not or they do something dumb I don't like then I'll just carry on watching Mando and not let it bother me.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

About a 3% chance I watch this before it’s on Disney+. If even then.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I get it. But i think you're underestimating how much i loathed TLJ. It was complete and utter garbage. They basically had unlimited resources to create a Star Wars movie and it was worse than shit.
It has completely turned me off of Star Wars movies. And this coming from the guy who watched Attack of the Clones 9 times in the theaters. It was that bad.

I agree with this assessment.
I am, however, going on the 20th, but TLJ dropped my expectations to nil (seriously it’s in my top 5 most hated movies ever), so I’m going in expecting a train wreck and if it’s not, I’ll be pleasantly surprised,..but I read the leaks for the whole movie and it sounds....messy at best.
We will see.

The three things lowering my expectations are - that race along the outside of a ship in the trailer; the sheer amount of destroyers in that fleet, as it looks like an impossible quantity, like were there ever that many ever? And strangely, the score... the SW theme but kind of altered and slowed to reflect the magnitude of the final episode in the series. It feels off, like that line from Threepio. All Threepio has done in the new movies is simper about his friends. I don't really want to see characters arcs 'wrapped up' or special significance to scenes because it's the last time we'll see so-and-so.
I don't know, I'm just not optimistic.

I'll be camped out prior to the midnight show with my glowing dildo toy, wearing my best and authentic peasant/farmer Tatooine toga wrap and exchanging epic stories about them green salties with the other fanboys.

Apparently the excuses are coming out already on "what went wrong".

Not exclusively with the new movie, but the trilogy as a whole and also Solo (which I didn't mind, but didn't love. Donald Glover being the best part).
Especially noteworthy when contrasted with The Mandalorian.
Rogue One rocked though, and was the closest full-length movie to the best parts of the OT IMHO.

To be honest, everything else is incidental to "no idea what the over-arcing story was going to be".
That's 95% of the reason it hasn't worked, in comparison to something carefully crafted like the MCU (to use the example given in the article).
