Spoiler

Frankly, that sounds quite entertaining :p

I really like that idea...but it DOES decanonize any of the Fett adventures they've published SINCE the prequels...Karen Traviss's Fett stuff will be hard to lose as that was her best writing.

But yeah, I like that idea a LOT!

if only so they can still make money from people playing THE OLD REPUBLIC.

THE OLD REPUBLIC has been totally free to play for a long while now actually.

It has a cash store, which has been shown to be more effective at turning more of a profit than subs, so it's still bringing in money expensive disaster or not.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Doesn't seem like this it's all that cut and dried now.

I meant more the amount of money used for advertising compared to development, among other things. At least it's good they're making their money back however gradually though?

Oh yeah, for sure.

I play the game and enjoy it for what it is, but it's nothing stellar.

Two bits of "grain of salt" rumours today.

Word is that Mara Jade is DEFINITELY in the new film as Luke's wife (my guess is we will learn in-script how he met her....or perhaps it will tie into the plot)...but they also mentioned that she will be present on the new animated show REBELS (takes place before ANH), so my guess is we might see her rise flashed back to?

Secondly, this working toward getting one singular canon going forward, WILL apparently include all the kids (though their names might be changed....tho I don't see nay reason for that) exactly as they are in the EU (three Solo kids ect.), but that large chunks of the continuity itself (stories that those character take part in) will be junked in the new Canon to pave the way for a fresh start.

And honestly, as much as I love the EU...it needs a fresh start...The characters were brilliant and some of the early books are AMAZING (STAR BY STAR I'm looking at you!) and made the EU really great...but the latter stuff devolved into messy long arc series that were hit and miss.

So if they are keeping the characters, but ditching large chunks of the story, I'm very cool with that. And since we are picking things up when the kids are teens, it means that SOME of the stuff that came before in the EU (HEIR TO THE EMPIRE, portions of the Yuhzan Vong struggle, Imperial Remnant) can still BE canon without screwing up the New Canon...they just need to link it to whatever story they set out to tell in the new trilogy.

But it's truly a genius move to put Mara Jade in REBELS as an intro for her to eventually show up in Ep VII married to Luke.

Despite its inconsistency of execution, the New Jedi Order series was a fantastic thing to have happen to the EU. Also, it contains Traitor, probably the single best work of Star Wars fiction in existence (with the possible exception of either KotoR which I haven't played to judge, but not excluding the movies, though ESB might argue).

On the other hand the stuff that has happened post-NJO is absolute rubbish, returning to the same old repetitive status quo obsession that NJO spent ten years tearing up.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Wow, this sounds excellent. Keeping the EU characters, but junking some of the story, hopefully including the still incomprehensible Legacy of the Force storyline in which

, is probably my ideal scenario.

We kind of knew this already, but Bob Iger and Disney officially announced today that Episode VII takes place 30 years after RETURN OF THE JEDI, and that many old faces will return along with the new ones.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I demand that the main character be a descendant of Wicket W. Warrick, roaming the galaxy as a bounty hunter. And that his latest target be a descendant of Jar Jar Binks.

(and somehow the Ewok has been possessed by the returning spirit of Mace Windu, so Samuel L. Jackson can do the voice)

Yub yub, motherfucker.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I think Warwick Davis is still small enough to be an Ewok in the new ones. That'd be a great Easter Egg casting moment.

I might actually lift my boycott of all Star Wars products that's lasted nearly 12 years now if these movies are good. The depths of hatred I have for what Lucas did with the franchise/Episodes 1-3 was sufficient for me to destroy the willingness to buy 5+ books a year, read the comics, get Lego-associated products, watch Clone Wars and/or play any of the games. I put money in that buffoon's pocket and I hated that.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Wait? You boycotted LEGO? You can't boycott LEGO! That's just cruel and unusual punishment towards LEGO!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Man, even I thought the Darth Icky line was too far.

I got the non-Star Wars Lego instead (it's a tradition to give a small set as an X-mas gift to family).

Yeah, I bowed out of CW quickly. Hopefully Rebels keeps the awesome animation but adds decent storylines.

Yeah, my buddy and I both agreed that Clone Wars was only ever any good when Anakin and Obi-Wan wasn't there. Such a shame that they were basically always there...
Screw you all, and have a nice day!
