you know, just reading over the thread again, i think i'm starting to get what bothers me about oe. he seems to be living in his own fantasy world with his rhyming and yet is coherent elsewhere. i just get the feeling i'm being played by someone who knows too much. for example, in the above quote, why does he repeat those three names over and over (and if you want to get weird, start looking how often the number 3 comes up in his posts).

furthermore, i want to reiterate that with the presence of multiple FMs, the FM themselves don't want to be jumped into and I would expect higher posters to be the ones actively protecting themselves. town or FM, i doubt anyone is going to try jumping into oe, but i'd bet the farm that the oe alt will be dead tomorrow morning should he squeak out of a lynch.

also, in response to him bringing up last game, i remember one of the killers trying to lead the thread on day 1. just because he acts helpful doesn't mean he's RI.

I can see at least one FM going after the easy lynch today and you all lose someone that could help you later in the game. Fucking marvelous. Goodnight. The comments on OE are interesting. It does seem to me that the effort OE is putting in, not just with the spam but also with the content, would be at odds with the role of a FM. But then, it also occurred to me that FMs are going to get caught by jumping, so it makes sense to create a character that doesn't seem like a FM, and would discourage other FMs to jump into that alt. And people tend to be the most forgiving of spam on the first day. It's his exit post that really gets me, it screams "helpful little townie getting lynched", which always gets me suspicious.

I don't know, I think this is a mistake. I don't see an FM putting this much effort into being conspicuous, regardless of future plans or whatever.

Can't say I really see it to be honest. Peoples problems with him are the poetry (the alleged spam) and some seem to buy into the idea that FMs are going to be the most aggressive on Day 1 because they're going to jump anyways.

The spam part of that doesn't really stand up, because he generated a lot of content over his posts as well. Why someone with lots of posts which contain actual stuff is worse than someone with few posts and a black hole for content is beyond me.

As for the second bit, I think that that logic doesn't stand up to any sort of scrutiny. On day one at least, I believe FMs don't have to play any way in particular, any more than townies have to a particular way. There is no real reason for them to be more aggressive.

I will be around to vote off OE if necessary, because they lynch is more important than whether I love the choice or not.

My preference would be to vote someone who is making a drive by on an easy vote train. That seems more FM to me. Why stand out and possibly become a lynch target on day 1, the easiest day to hide in, if you're going to jump soon? Easier to just ensure the lynch happens and grab a snack.

Telas, Sorrit, Korvalain fit the bill for that IMO.

I don't know, I think this is a mistake. I don't see an FM putting this much effort into being conspicuous, regardless of future plans or whatever.

If it's the way the player generally posts though, then it wouldn't take much more effort to go a bit crazy and add some silly poetry.

I don't know. Jury is still out for me. I don't really like lynching a high-posting and helpful player, but I'm keeping an open mind.

A good, truly convincing case on day 1 is like a presidential debate with substance (topical!), it doesn't exist. Honestly, I think there's more chance of picking randomly from a group of 4 or 5 in the middle range of posters and getting an FM than there is in lynching Olar. But I'll be happy to be proved wrong.
