It's boring in every aspect. It's a bit like you couldn't decide between going for epic (wrong format) or emotional (too neatly posed), so it's kind of in the middle ground, with a resolved conflict and people crammed into the corners because they had to go somewhere.
I think the biggest problem is that you posed both people in the foreground completely in profile, viewed from a straight eye-level angle, and conveniently posing so that the viewer absolutely sees every details of what's happening. We all know what just happened, and I think even a viewer who doesn't would be able to get the general drift, even if Kallor wasn't posed in the act while WJ is already in the aftermath. It's like you absolutely wanted to make sure it's foolproof.
I'd recommend expanding the format from the square-ish one you have now to a more landscape-oriented format, which would allow you to vary the distances of the two background groups to that of the foreground, and to decide on whether you want a before, an in-action, or an aftermath situation, and then putting everything (poses, expressions, perspective, light) in service to conveying the emotions involved.
For example, as Egwene mentioned, Kallor is likely to be pulling back already when WJ is in this position. And with WJ having his hand where the wound is there really is no reason to have Kallor's sword sticking out of it anymore. The situation's obvious. He could even already be turning away to inforce the finality of his final strike.
Also, a minor thing.. landscapes are what you're good at, so why do you use that horrible grass brush? It's takes away from the quality.

Thanks for the the feedback, but it may not matter now. I dropped my drive and I haven't backed it up for about 6 months. Maybe a good thing.
Rejoice. For very bad things are about to happen

That sucks. Sorry man.
I think you can still save your work if you unmounted the back-up drive and get it set up directly to your SATA/IDE cable. I tried that last time my hardrive was corrupted and salvaged quite a bit.

Have a look at this thing. A posable mannequin with a huge range of motion. Decent price as well.
It's going to be 50% off when they get to 2000 likes.

Not Malazan, but the first thing I've drawn in ages! Might be Loke, god of Mischief, might be someone else entirely...I'm just happy to have actually finished something

Love it! The detailing on those lips gives me shivers. Maybe taking a break was good for you - this is one of the best pieces I've seen from you
