Just read this book at last. On the whole I thought it was excellent, although his characters didn't really stand up against Eriksons. The Prince of Nothing is a brilliant character, though, and I can't wait to read more of him.

When's the next one due?

And also, who do you think Moenghus is? There are two theories on the ASoIaF board, one that Moenghus is Maithenet (his amazing charisma) and one that Moenghus is Mahanet (i think that was his name. The Cishaurim(sp?) sorcerer.)

My first thought while reading was that he is Maithenet as both Moenghus and Kellhus are both described as having blue eyes(can't remember the exact phrasing) and the ability to make people worship them. But when Akka and Proyas meet Kell they don't see any resemblence where as Cnaiur originally mistook Kell for his father so now i'm not sure.

And incidentally, if y'all haven't checked out RSB's Three Seas Forum (http://forum.three-seas.com/), check it out. Not a very lively site in terms of post counts, but RSB posts there regularly on a variety on topics and his views are quite fascinating...
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Falco, what exactly do you feel Bakker's beating you over the head with (in re : homosexual references)? We're being shown cultures that are very similar to those of Greece/Asia Minor/Arabia in the early Middle Ages. Sodomy was no less common then than now; and of course "homosexuality" hadn't been conceptualized yet.

The Warrior Profit was good but the last little bit kind of made me sick. RSB is definetly more graphic in the second book

Dammit! Going to have to import a copy I guess.

"Men!" growled Nynaeve, tugging her braid and folding her arms under her breasts. Elayne stormed into the room. "Men!" she exclaimed, tugging Nynaeve's braid and folding her arms beneath her breasts. Aviendha stormed into the room. "Men!" she growled, tugging Nynaeve's braid and folding...

I picked this up today as well. I like the trade paperback format. It's even got the foldout flaps, so it's just like a hardcover, except with soft binding and no pesky dust jacket. I wish they'd publish all books like this, it's so much easier to carry around than a hardcover. And cheaper, too.

I haven't started reading it yet, but it looks like it's an insanely complex world, with lots of different cultures, religions, political factions, and magical schools. Fortunately there's an appendix and maps in the back of the book.

In case anyone is interested, here are the titles and release dates of the final two books in the trilogy:

Book 2 - "The Warrior-Prophet" - April 2004
Book 3 - "When Sorcerers Sing" - April 2005

There's a forum for the The Prince of Nothing trilogy here, with the author as an active poster!

I believe it is said on Penguin's website that April 2004 and April 2005 are the release dates for the last two respectively. I can't even recall the titles although I think someone named them earlier in this topic.

Edit: Er I don't even know what year it is anymore. Memory starting to go already Posted Image

Yeah, I also found out today it will be released her in March so I went a web-hunting and got a hold of it for the grand total of £10.31 and should have it in four days!

Found it on abebooks
