Wow, A House of Chains didn't even crack the top ten on that list... I didn't think it was the strongest book in the series, but I don't think it deserves such a low ranking... very surprising....

With the favorable exchange rate, it shouldn't be any more expensive than buying a book at the bookstore. Shipping is only a few dollars.

And it shouldn't take too long for the book to arrive, either. When I've ordered books from Amazon UK, I've received them in 4-5 days.
I assume that it's approximately the same for Amazon.ca

There's always expedited shipping if you really want it super-fast, but I find that regular shipping is just fine.

Right now the book is only published in Canada, but I would imagine that it will eventually be published in other countries. If you're really patient, you can wait for it to be published in your country, otherwise Amazon.ca is your best bet. It's a trade paperback, so it will be cheaper than a hardcover.

I'm about halfway through the book and am enjoying it immensely. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes Erikson's books.

In the spirit of recommending books that Erikson loves I would also recommend reading Paul Kearny's Monarchy of Gods series of five books (the series is now complete as well!) to pass the time until Bakker. Utterly amazing. I think Erikson was influenced greatly from these books, especially the military aspect. The characters also remind me a bit of some of the Malazan ones.

That's good news, about the UK edition. Did he also say when? Or when he intends to release his second volume in Canada? I didn't find an e-mail address on his site..

On another forum someone said that UK publisher Earthlight had acquired the rights, and that the first book would be published at the end of the year.

Hope that last part is not correct though.

It was #1 on the list for 2002. Nothing was released in 2003 by Erikson unfortunately.
