Interesting point there. I vaguely recall her telling Akka about that, but i don't think she ever mentioned it to Kellhus.

Yeah the maps have the exact same style as the ones from most Tolkien books. Geography is quite different, though. The ending of the book is excellent, although it leaves you dying for the next one, but what good fantasy book doesn't nowadays?

That cover looks amazing, I love that golden colour they used. Good to see some originality in cover art for once. Also I'll say it again, the style of trade paperback that this book comes in is excellent. The cover and pages are very flexible and you can almost roll the book up like a newspaper and it won't crease it or bend it. Wish more books would come out like this. It is the exact same as the North American versions of the Mieville books. Not sure how they are published overseas.

I finished this bad boy yesterday. Interesting book. Excellent writing and characterizations. However, I tink there was bit too much buildup and not enough actual release. Of course, that will just make me buy the next book which was the author's plan, so meh! Khellus ruled. Posted Image

Looks very interesting and the guy lives in my city which is cool. Weird since last week a customer where I work told me her friend who wrote a book about female Werewolves was getting a deal with Hollywood to turn it into a movie starring Angelina Jolie... maybe I will be the next big thing out of London! :p Anyway I am going to check out the Chapters here in London tomorrow to see if it is here. If not I will find the guys house and steal a bunch of copies and send them out to everyone Posted Image

Just ordered it from Chapters. Shipping to Australia is cheaper than using Amazon.ca.

Thanks, Lady A. and no problemo, Shadowlord. 160 pages in and I am loving the book. I would be even further but I have two exams on Monday and I am trying to study for those as well Posted Image. Anyway, the book is excellent, I really like how the author is moving the story along. It flows really well. I also like the POV characters, they are all well fleshed out and you get an awesome sense of how their mind works and what motivates them to do what they do.

Bakker really did go into hyper grim mode in TWP. I for one love how bleak things are getting, with virtually every major character either insane or totally broken in one way or another.

I can't wait until the consult really lets loose and we get to see how well he does the world really ending.

After weeks of poking around and getting nowhere, I managed to talk to someone at Penguin CA who helped me get the book. I should have it soon. I was told that his agent is presently trying to get a US publisher to print the book, so the difficulty for those of us here may become considerably less in the months ahead.

but it will take so LONG! And it'll be EXPENSIVE! And i still need to read the Sandman Comics (which are being put on hold for this)... oh well, ill try ordering it off Chapters, since that dispatches quite a bit quicker...

Just mentioning that Penguin USA will be releasing this book in June ( coincides with the US release of Garden of the Moon btw). In the UK it will be published in March.
