Yeah, it seems that whenever I hear people make arguments in ways that I remember (i.e. old hands) I immediately find them more credible, even if the content is a bit suspect. By the time the game drags on I start to lose track of who said what and who to check when, and I rushed my conclusion at the end. Should have just voted Ampelas and called it a day.

Think the last day was a bit rushed generally. Was absolutely dreading that someone would look at my vote on Karosis and accuse me of de-railing from Amp yesterday, but people didn't seem that bothered about whether or not I'd interacted much with him before, thank god.

Definitely seconded that you should play more .

Also poor PS probably got an incoherent PM every ten minutes or so detailing my current paranoias for most of the game. Symp is such fun.

I'd be interested in whatever is in line next--it was definitely fun even though I was frustrated at the end.

I think Ansible was less than pleased with my resolution. I couldn't get MM to work for some reason so I just had to wing it bit by bit.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Also, I have a post somewhere that says we would lynch someone for advocating a no lynch in an older time. We need to get back to that. I don't know if D'rek was trying to prove a point, but either way she did.

So, what game is next? I'm down for another simple one.

Actually, I quite like that people can suggest no lynch now. It is occasionally a valid tactic, and shouldn't get you lynched just for that. We're in a weird place where people still are very suspicious of it, but it isn't an instant lynch. I'd like it to become less suspicious, and just something that's treated on a case by case basis. Not suspicious in cases where the train really wouldn't yield information, and suspicious when it would. Lynching people just for the sake of it and going into day two with no more info than day one but more innos down than necessary is silly too.

Definitely. My favorite game I remember playing was getting symp in one of the benses games with shinrei and later pb. You get to put yourself out there and push the game where you want while know pretty much exactly what's going on.

The thing with this game is that so many people were acting like symps (anthras, atrahal, korbas) that I had no idea who was and who wasn't.

I think this will be an evolving art. People are redefining scummy, and I think Khell's game play style of getting rises out of people is an amazing and fun way to play the game. I hope to emulate it, and since I wasn't really in a good place to give this game my all, I thought I would experiment at you'se guys expense.

Oh, I have no quarrels with you, Master of Drink, I just honestly thought that from the way things were posted that I had really fucked things up and I was disappointed in myself. Appreciate the resolution, regardless of how antsy I was.

Good game everyone, Grief, I very much wanted to shoot you in the face when you counter-revealed, and Drek, good catch on my screw up with the Karosis vote. Well deserved win. Grief's little counter-reveal thing was perhaps the craziest move I have seen so far in a Mafia game (this was only my fifth).

Dkt and one or two others would probably take issue to you giving Khell all the credit. Getting rises out of people is a good tactic for town. As long as you get a reaction and let themselves hang themselves with it. It can also backfire or be taken too far by people actually acting scummy for a reaction (which they of course get), and then can only defend themselves with "I was just pretending to be scummy for a reaction" which is about as effective as you would think it would be.

Haven't been around that long Grief. Plus, I have trouble keeping people straight, let alone playstyles. Got to harp on just one or two before I get too befuddled.

Maybe Dkts changed. Him exploding was practically a reliable fixture of the game when I started. I never quite got a grasp on how much was tactical though.

He's still aggressive. Bit more refined aggression, but still bit in the teeth go at yah. Unless he's scum.

DKT is my mafia god. The first game I ever played in (or maybe just watched, I can't remember) he played an absolutely amazing symp.

But yeah, he still does this sometimes. Gusty just doesn't pay attention.

I don't have a problem with this strategy, if its effective. In this game, honestly GH, I was just confused by you. Maybe it comes from mobile playing. I dunno.

Haha. I confused myself. It was my last week of neurology (and the last week of a 4 month run of hospital work). That, and if you even tried to follow my stuff in Espers, you'll see where I kind of went.... well... loopy.

As for paying attention, that is one of my biggest faults. Get distracted easily and tend to skim in all the wrong places. Why I get the rules wrong so often. ADHD? Probably not, but it gets me into trouble in real life too. I like to think it's because my mind is two steps ahead of my eyes, which are still rolling to the back of my head trying to read that bright orange sign that said something like DANGER.

I hope it's simple and that sign ups take a lomg time. I'm off to camp for 2 weeks with no electronics. Therefore... No Mafia... But I started on Sengoku and want to be able to play in it.
