I don't care what people say, I absolutely adore Daniel Craig's James bond. The character is incredibly menacing. He's such a complete psycho that you have to love it.

Yeah, it looks amazing. Note there are two cuts of the trailer US one and an International one...the Javier Bardem reveal in the US version is better.

At any rate, the film looks REALLY good, and I love that little interchange between Bond and Ben Wishaw's young Q. Excellent!

I could have gone to the advance screening of Looper a week or so before it came out because ive got acineworld card so that might be it.

This is the last of the Daniel Craig trilogy isnt it? As in this likely ties up the new SPECTRE plot line. I hope he decides to do more hes an excellent bond.

Actually, Craig just signed on to make 2 more Bond films AFTER SKYFALL, so it's not the last with him...though I suppose it could be the end of a trilogy story arc.

Just came back from seeing this film at the local cinema. What a terrible film this is. No, not terribly exciting, or terribly entertaining. Terrible as in dull, stupid and predictable.

What were they thinking? Not only was the last half of the film unoriginal and cliché, they made the characters actions and choices astonishingly stupid, to the point that it tore me right out of the film. I was just sitting and looking at the screen and wondering who okayed this.

You have, perhaps the worlds most important head of secret intelligence, M, in a situation where she is being seriously threatened by a powerful and ruthless "genious" (idiot). So what do you do? You drive her out into the Scottish country side, put her in a decrepit old house and create an ambush? Consisting of MacGyver traps and two old people and a drunk armed with shotguns? Seriously. This is the ending of the film? SHE HAS THE COMBINED POWER AND INTELLIGENCE OF THE ENTIRE WORLD AT HER FINGER TIPS AND THIS IS WHAT THEY SETTLE FOR!?!? Why not put her in an army base. Or in a bunker. Or just a normal house that isn't guarded by a security system that apparently DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF FIREWALLS!? Why not use the considerable amount of man power and wealth MI6 has to FUCKING FIND THE BAD GUY AND KILL HIM!?!

Then you have idiotic scenes like old guy and M running around in the dark shining a flash light. And Bond falling into freezing water and not only being able to perform a quite impressive amount of under water fighting, but also escape the water with no apparent ill effects? He would not be able to do much more than curl into a ball if he even managed to make it out of the water for christs sake. Don't get me started on that underwater flair gun.

Similarly are we seriously to believe that Bond survived getting shot and falling hundreds of feet into a river on his head? With no other ill effects than a sore shoulder? Or that he apparently has had depleted uranium in his shoulder for 6 months with out him developing a mutant arm or maybe just blood cancer? I get that it's a silly action spy movie but seriously now.

I feel like the game blew its load on the opening section and just puttered along for the rest of the film. I absolutely loved the opening and the theme song thingy section. And from there on in it just didn't feel like the movie delivered. I get that these three movies have been about bonds personality and history but they really could have done a lot more with this story. Why not really go with the addiction to alcohol and painkillers? Have him be a true wreck. You want to add some kind of tragic family history? Then go all in, not just show us an old manor. Give us a better threat than an ambiguously gay weirdo with a mommy complex.

Bond movie are supposed to be big and flashy. I REALLY hope we get to see him fighting SPECTRE or something like this in the upcoming films because this film was boring.

(I did love the throw backs to the old movies and the introduction of Moneypenny and "new M" though)

You did not find the "lead the bad guy to secluded spot with no back-up" plan just a tiny bit far fetched? Nor annoying that its a story that has been done a dozen times before in much more logical ways. The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner immediately springs to mind as a much better executed version of Skyfalls second half.

James Bond "kidnaps" M, breaks all protocol and good sense, to take her off the grid where she can not get any protection and she ends up dead. Ultimately the movie ends with Bond failing what he was tasked to do, protect M. He fucking got the head of intelligence killed because of his incompetence! And there is no reprimand? No demotion? No punishment? Just a good show old chap, you meant well, here's the next task for you?

You do not find this to be a bad story wrap up?

Apt I can overlook (but not forgive !) your general insanity when it comes to all things cinema, as in this case I can see where you are coming from.

But perhaps the thing to remember is that this IS James Bond. Ridiculous plot lines and holes you could drive a bus through are pretty standard in the Bond universe, or at least they were before he started having to compete with Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt.

Just go back to the classic Bond films of Connery and Moore, I mean have you seen Moonraker !?

I loved it and was happy to see a return of sorts to the humour and occasional silliness that I grew up watching. Bond's background and persona have been established, I can almost imagine him leaving M's office at the end of the movie and heading out to the Caribbean to give Honey Rider
a good seeing to and Dr No a good kicking !

Or, in this case, Batman. Sam Mendes did like the Dark Knight trilogy, didn't he?
