Trailer is up!
I don't care what people say, I absolutely adore Daniel Craig's James bond. The character is incredibly menacing. He's such a complete psycho that you have to love it.

It won't take much to make a better film than QUANTUM.

THIS.
(though I liked parts of QUANTUM and how it followed well on the story set up in CR)
Above and beyond anything else it needs to be as good as CASINO ROYALE...and I have high hopes with Mendes in the director's chair. Only time will tell how this plays out.\
Oh and Apt, f*** you for trying to trump me since I posted this trailer in the "Movie Thread" long before you...and you and I both KNOW you saw it there and made a new thread. I'll let it slide this time.

I posted it there too, so fuck you (in a nice way, naturally)!
EDIT: Both. xD

I haven't watched a lot of films lately, quite a while actually, so I don't really go into the Ye Big Movie thread much. And yes, it deserved its own thread. So nyyyyaaaah.

Yeah, it looks amazing. Note there are two cuts of the trailer US one and an International one...the Javier Bardem reveal in the US version is better.
At any rate, the film looks REALLY good, and I love that little interchange between Bond and Ben Wishaw's young Q. Excellent!

Just heard a clip of the leaked Skyfall theme. Sounds pretty good. I'm stoked for the end of the month. My boss got some kind of invitation to an advanced screening event on...I dunno, 25th or something. I don't know if he knows yet—I'd go if he didn't want to...

I could have gone to the advance screening of Looper a week or so before it came out because ive got acineworld card so that might be it.
This is the last of the Daniel Craig trilogy isnt it? As in this likely ties up the new SPECTRE plot line. I hope he decides to do more hes an excellent bond.

Actually, Craig just signed on to make 2 more Bond films AFTER SKYFALL, so it's not the last with him...though I suppose it could be the end of a trilogy story arc.

Just came back from seeing this film at the local cinema. What a terrible film this is. No, not terribly exciting, or terribly entertaining. Terrible as in dull, stupid and predictable.
Spoiler

You did not find the "lead the bad guy to secluded spot with no back-up" plan just a tiny bit far fetched? Nor annoying that its a story that has been done a dozen times before in much more logical ways. The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner immediately springs to mind as a much better executed version of Skyfalls second half.

I thought we'd established years ago that Apt's taste in movies was as bizarre as it gets and none of us should listen to him.

Apt is the Bizarro world Roger Ebert.
"Fortune favors the bold, though statistics favor the cautious." - Indomitable Courteous (Icy) Fist, The Palace Job - Patrick Weekes
"Well well well ... if it ain't The Invisible C**t." - Billy Butcher, The Boys
"I have strong views about not tempting providence and, as a wise man once said, the difference between luck and a wheelbarrow is, luck doesn’t work if you push it." - Colonel Orhan, Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City - KJ Parker

Apt I can overlook (but not forgive !) your general insanity when it comes to all things cinema, as in this case I can see where you are coming from.
But perhaps the thing to remember is that this IS James Bond. Ridiculous plot lines and holes you could drive a bus through are pretty standard in the Bond universe, or at least they were before he started having to compete with Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt.
Just go back to the classic Bond films of Connery and Moore, I mean have you seen Moonraker !?
I loved it and was happy to see a return of sorts to the humour and occasional silliness that I grew up watching. Bond's background and persona have been established, I can almost imagine him leaving M's office at the end of the movie and heading out to the Caribbean to give Honey Rider
a good seeing to and Dr No a good kicking !

Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.

Or, in this case, Batman. Sam Mendes did like the Dark Knight trilogy, didn't he?
Good film though.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
