This idea of selling people's faction... I don't like it. It gives the finders way too much power. They get to make money from it, release the people they find from the other faction AND remain anonymous. Hm.

What can we do to stop this?

Agree not to buy the contracts?

Well I'm sure everyone will say that on thread, then a few will purchase anyway. We all like information. I'm not going to, unless it's on someone who I have no read on, then maybe...

Since you're here Alkend, what do you think about one of the titles being bought already?

Reading through the scene, the guy who got it is described as a Master Craftsman. Makes me think that he might have acquired his money through selling refined goods in the bazaar. I don't have time to check at the moment - does it seem as though someone could have brought in enough money that way?

Since Alkend is gone and unable to reply, I think I'll put forward my opinion.
About the title: Seeing as PS said someone found a loophole to infinite $, I would guess it was either the person who was selling the merrid information, or the person offering to send any good for an exorbitanf price. I believe it is the latter as if you add up all of their contracts it comes close to 30000 dinari, which also leads ne to believe that they bought the title.
Edit: didn't make sense.

But no-one ever bought those exhorbitant contracts, so I don't see how they'd have made any money from them...

Hello all, sorry I've been away since this morning, had to 'host' a freaking stage play for my friend's little sister and her friends...long story involving lack of space and lack of tuxedo and cane...yeah, don't ask.

A lot and yet not a lot seems to have happened. I'm pretty shocked that a title has gone already, actually. Makes me a little nervous that someone's really got a handle on this marketing thing.

No, not at all. But now I do. From his posts, not the contract.

@Omtose

From the looks of the market, people are all selling, and few are buying.

In my expert (lol) opinion, this means people are either close to a title or some big upgrade, and are trying to sell some goods last minute to get it during this day/night cycle. Unfortunately for those people, no one is buying anything.

Well, a few are, but there's a lot of cheap product going unbought.

Yeah, after the initial flurry (which looks to have been one person who then put the items back on market for cheaper), there's been very little activity, so you're probably right. Either that, or it's Friday and people are elsewhere.

Oh, I forgot it was Friday. I'm betting its that, quite a few people don't play much on Friday. Could certainly count for something.

The other (slightly more scary) option, of course, is that people have successfully acquired their upgrades/big purchases, and now don't have any money to buy stuff with.

Interesting that there is information on players sold on the market. I can see why a finder would try to sell it. And there are at least three people who are willing to pay for the information.
I wonder how much of that we will note on thread, aka if someone will try to built a bullshit case on Merrid or someone will try to defend him or if some people will try to avoid being associated with him.

I was trying to figure out why people haven't done that already. I've come to the conclusion that people might actually be afraid to talk about what they've learned.

- If Merrid is in the faction of the person who bought the information, then they obviously aren't going to share.
- If Merrid is not in the same faction, then revealing Merrid's faction also reveals yours by a process of elimination. So as soon as you come on thread to denounce Merrid, you also make yourself a target.

That sounds reasonable.
I think if someone not from Merrid's faction got the information they might try to use hindering actions against him and wait for a good point of time to go for him or kill during the night if they can do any of this.

I suspect the legal way to do what whoever posted as H&M looking for Grain and Silk was trying to do is to post a contract asking for someone to sell some.

EDIT: For grammar!

This. Or ask on thread for it, from your game alt.

For 0.66, the following goes:
If you want to remain hidden while asking, you have to pay for it.
If you want asking for it to be free, then you have to be open about it.

Both have advantages, but free advertisement doesn't exist (although if there's a market for it, I may implement it in 1.0).
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Damn lost my post!!

So in summary the talk still focuses a lot around the bazaar. It's interesting and there seems to be some serious business going on in regards to the selling of info. Don't like the fact that some of the mystery of trying to figure things out can just go away by the purchase of a contract (maybe. someone mentioned if the information is even good). But that still won't stop people from buying it.

But we are well on our way to the conclusion of Day 2 and we still haven't gotten very serious about lynching anyone. I've got some work to get caught up on and then I would like to go back and possibly stir the pot up. See what might come to the surface.

Okay. I apologize. I'm the guilty party. I would like some Grain and Silk. I just thought that everyone looks in the bazaar to buy things. I figure having a message board there as well posting items that people might be interested in buying would help prompt those that have those goods to offer them up.
