That's probably what people will be most interested in though, especially since the inclination is towards low lynching. That might even be one reason to put up finds that are not detrimental to your own team, since it'll balance out the lack of lynches in terms of information

So how do these contracts benefit the person offerring them?

Well, my guess is that the person offering the contracts is giving someone incentive to sell those items by offering cash to list the goods, but theoretically, the player listing the goods could buy them back, I guess...and that would really screw the person who listed the contract. Because they'd have to pay the person who listed the goods, but they wouldn't be able to buy them (which was the entire point of the contract).

Reading this makes my head spin.

What's confusing about it?

I think I need a picture. Can you esplain this in a diagram? Let me get my crayons...

Stepping away from bazaaro-world for a minute, what do people think of that tiff between Atrahal and Korabas during the Dusk/Night? Take a look at this post from Atrahal:

Sorry buddy, I know you haven't been around at ALL, but you should take the time to read carefully. I actually never pushed for a low-poster lynch. Never suggested it at all. We were discussing whether or not we should even bother trying to lynch today, and I made the point that IF we did decide to speed lynch (which everyone, including myself, agree would probably be a bad idea), that the low-posters would have to be possible targets, because of the game setup. Your arguments are totally empty (uh, isn't lynching on day 1 usually a given? this game specifically changes that mechanic, hence the discussion). I didn't vote for anyone, I agreed that no lynch was probably best, and yet here you are, magically appearing after I call you out as the lowest poster in the game, accusing me of pushing lynches...hmm..... Suspicious much?

My main point was that you did not participate at all on Day 1 and that makes you an unknown element which is dangerous. And therefore the low-posters should be watched. And now we have a perfect, overly defensive response from the lowest guy on the list....thanks for the reaction. IGMEOY.

To me, this post feels unusually like an unusually aggressive defense of some interesting but not hugely strong points made by Korabas. Ironic considering that's what Atrahal was calling Korabas out for. Maybe it's just the "Oh yeah?! Well I think you're suspicious too!" nature of the response setting my teeth on edge, but it makes me think Atrahal may be sitting on a big role he wants to protect.

You have a point. Personally, I think its scummy to target low posters right away. I'm willing to give them a few days before I start calling them out, and I'm not just saying this because I'm on the low post list. While I am no aficianado, I have noticed that the ones that are most vocal about advocating a low poster lynch tend to turn out to be the scum. Low posters tend to be easy targets OR Lizra.

Already we have problems with people using language like this in serious conversations. You are treating this like a TMDI 1 game - "I'm willing to give them a few days before I start calling them out" - but this game is not that at all. It's TMDI 10. And no, even in M&P games, advocating the lynch of a low-poster is NOT scummy behavior - in fact, it's the opposite, because the odds are that a low-poster is either an RI unwilling or unable to help town, or a scum coasting along with the breeze; getting rid of that player usually helps town more than lynching someone who's been discussing things all day. As RI, that is your only goal in the game - to discuss things on thread and vote appropriately. We've gotten into this habit of thinking that vocal players are "scum" and low-posters must be "well-intentioned town who play badly". It's just irritating to see classic Mafia elements misunderstood and misapplied - like when Korabas appears five seconds after I call him out, I went on a rant about it because that is just suspicious, always. Omtose said it below too - it's not that I was getting defensive; all my points were valid. In fact, it's almost embarrassing to look back through the thread so far and see how many times my posts have been called "logical" because they explain things in a very clear and contextually correct way. So, what, being helpful is bad now? Should we all just stop posting and see how things go?

I also have a tendency to get snippy with those who misread (intentionally or not) what has been said on thread, and if you want to interpret my suspicion of low-posters as a "low-poster hunt" when we had one vote, no lynch, and nothing even seriously being discussed regarding lynchings on Day 2, then you can do that. But it just simply isn't what was posted on thread. And now I'm ranting again. But fuck me if it isn't irritating when people start treating this game like M&P when it's the polar opposite of everything that M&P implies.

PLEASE don't patronize ME. My point is that we don't neccessarily want to just randomly cut our numbers and look at CFs. I agree that the strategy is not like an M&P game.

Actually I am wondering how it works if someone put the goods up fulfilled the contract but then didn't have enough money to buy them back but had tried to buy them back before the other party could buy them. Do they default on their own good buy back. Does PS take possession of the goods or do they just stay on the market.

You say that, but then you use terms like "scummy" that have no meaning or application in this game. That does not support your claim that you are treating this differently than an M&P game.

They probably want those items up on the market so they can snatch them up. Risky strategy though, as if someone else buys them, the contract offerer is out 1k dinari. SOmeone who offers this kind of contract is probably someone who is around to watch the bazaar for extended periods.
