Trump will just use an executive order to declare he was a democratic leftist.
On a more serious note, yes he was assisted, yes he was a public figure. However flying the flags at half mast? He is not a politician, I don’t believe he served.
"To my friend Charlie Kirk. Rest now brother. We have the watch and I'll see you in Valhalla," Kash Patel said. This quote fascinated me because it is also filled with self aggrandizement, it honors Kirk in a way I’m not convinced he deserves and it possibly shows a problematic personal bent/bias by the man whose agency is gathering the evidence? I mean they are friends that is a fact that I don’t expect Patel to deny but is this normal language?
I don’t know if this is a post assassination lionization or if I underestimated a Kirk’s influence. I always saw his as a b grade maga influencer on the level of Ben Shapiro or Candace Owens. Household names with a following but not necessarily such a huge deal. Not a Tucker, hannity or the supplement guy (I’m blanking right now but he is huge).

The level of lionization and praise for Kirk is pretty wild. I suspect it's just zeitgeist/socmed reaction right now and won't last much past the funeral, but wow!
Also drawing attention far off in the distance, a transgender writer whose DC comic issue 1 had just been released was fired and the run cancelled because they made a social media along the lines of 'hope the bullet is ok'.

Social media is a cancer and it has metabolized to every part of the body politic.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

You shouldn’t be surprised. Modern conservatism is the party of white grievance and outrage. Who can we hate today? What are we angry about today?
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I think you're right -- though to the question earlier of whether Kirk was on the same level as all the other far right talking heads, it's essentially true that he started that way and as a minor media figure was in that group. But he's the one person among them who actually built an organization that gets conservative male Gen Z kids to vote, so he was valuable to the conservative project in a way the others aren't, at least as individuals. They all contribute to the ambiance, and are all replaceable, but he was specifically useful.
That doesn't mean the big dog isn't already kinda over it though:

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It's fascism and the key tenet of fascism is that it needs an "other"...the hate is the point. If they don't have an "other" it falls apart as an ideology as there is nothing else to it. They know this, so there is always an "other" ....in the 1920's the "others" were Irish and Italian immigrants....these days it's LGBTQ people..But it's entropic....when those others cease to be, or they remove themselves from the conservative environment...that fascism will turn inwards and eat its own in purity tests...
Like look a that one place in the US that's a whites only community....let that exist for a few years and WATCH it eat itself when they can't blame their problems own immigrants or gay people...

Utah, you say? Seems relevant.
